E404 - Bourbon Brokering with Chevalier Casks

Chevalier Casks is a brokered marketplace and timed sales platform for whiskey barrels, cooperage, distillery equipment, and related inventory. They help connect buyers and sellers in the whiskey market and simplify complex transactions. In this episode, we discuss bulk whiskey sales and barrel brokering with the leaders of Chevalier: Coby Adkins, Ben Franzini, and Sam Rock. Collectively, these guys have many years of experience in spirits finance, distilling, operations, and hospitality. While you may not be familiar with Chevalier, they are responsible for some of the absolute best whiskey that we've had in our glasses over the past few years. This conversation covers everything from the current and future state of the whiskey market to all the things that Chevalier does to serve distilleries, brand owners, bottlers, and industry partners. So if you've ever wondered what a barrel broker does, this episode is for you. In addition to the fascinating conversation, we also share and discuss some amazing pours (as usual). -------------------------- Visit Chevalier Casks: https://www.chevaliercasks.com/ Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

    E403 - Elmer T. Lee 40th & Bulleit 20 Year Rye

In this episode, we tackle two of the most sought after releases of 2026. Bulleit 20-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey is one of the oldest whiskeys ever bottled by the brand. Coming in at 137 proof, this MGP sourced rye is like nothing we've ever seen or tasted. Buffalo Trace recently released the Elmer T. Lee 40th anniversary edition to celebrate one of the most iconic figures in their brands history. We were lucky to get our hands on a bottle thanks to Jazz. Join us this week as we taste some great whiskey and engage in some legendary conversation. -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

    E402 - Heaven Hill Bottled-In-Bond Double Mash

What do you get when you blend two mashbills at a large heritage distillery. Why...it's twice the mash...some might call it double mash. For this week's short, we taste and review Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash. This is 9-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey released in a few months ago. Coming in at 100 proof, this expression is comprised of two mashbills blended together. The result is a four grain bourbon that contains corn, malted barley, and equal parts wheat and rye. So is this experiment one worth trying? Give us a listen to find out. -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

    E400 - Maker's Mark Export from 1981

This week's short involves a bottle of Maker's Mark that was bottled in 1981. This is the same year that Steven and Anthony were born. While we couldn't organize an all-star lineup for our monumental 400th episode, we did think it would be appropriate to crack a bottle that is a little harder to find. If you were to visit a store in 1981 buy this bottle of bourbon, it would have cost you $10. Even though that doesn't seem like a lot -- it was quite expensive then and people noticed. So, how does this bottle taste roughly 45 years after it was bottled? You'll have to give us a listen to find out. We want to thank you all for your continued support of the podcast. Cheers! -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

E399 - Bottles from the Kentucky Bourbon Festival

Even though it's been a few weeks since the Kentucky Bourbon Festival (KBF) ended, we still have quite a few bottles to talk about. In this episode, we taste and review numerous bottles that were sold at KBF. Brands include Dark Arts, Old Louisville, Samuel Call, Jackson's Purchase, and more! The fellas engage in a wide ranging conversation that will spark nostalgia for some of you. But most of all, you'll get to hear our take on MANY new and exciting bottles from some brands you are familiar with (and some you've probably never heard of). -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

E398 - EverNorth BDH Bourbon (Distillery Only)

The whole crew is back together and today we are talking about EverNorth. For those that couldn't make it to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival (KBF), Dan and Sean and the rest of the crew at EverNorth Spirits released a near hazmat bourbon known as "BDH." This bottle is a limited, single-barrel short-barrel bourbon release distilled at Green River with a 78/13/9 corn/rye/malted barley mash bill, bottled at cask strength 68% ABV. They chose to release this bottle due to it's exceptional profile and bold flavors. What do we think? Give us a listen to find out. -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!

E397 - W. H. McBrayer 250th Small Batch and Cedar Brook Single Barrel Bourbon

    W. H. McBrayer "The Judge" is a revival Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced by McBrayer Legacy Spirits, honoring 19th-century distiller William Harrison "The Judge" McBrayer. In this episode, we taste and review the 250th blend and a wheated Cedar Brook single barrel. This brand has been around long before prohibition and the family restarted multiple labels using the historical information from their ancestry. So how does this whiskey taste? We will give you our full and honest review while having a lot of fun in the process. Cheers y'all. -------------------------- Socials IG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupky FB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupky YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupky Join our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcast Partnership(s) Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUP Music: All the Fixings by Zachariah Hickman Thank you so much for listening!
