    RV Travel Stories: Judy and Boyd

    This week we visit with fellow full-time RVers and RV America Y'all Posse Members Boyd and Judy from Michigan, who decided to ditch the condo life and hit the road as full-time travelers... but first they needed to downsize and find an RV! During COVID, Judy and Boyd decided they had had enough of sitting still. So within 6 months, they had downsized their possessions, bought a motorhome and headed south to escape the Michigan winter. As Boyd says, "We didn't know what we were getting into". Flash forward a few years and they are still traveling full-time and checking off their bucket list. In this episode, they share some of the challenges they have faced, their learning experiences, how they have adjusted to motorhome life, their planning process and more nuggets of wisdom. We also talk about how full-time travel teaches you how to be more comfortable with uncomfortable situations and how to make downsizing easier.     Meet Jim and Belinda, Upscale RV Resorts

    In this episode, we introduce you to our friends, neighbors and fellow full-time RVers Jim and Belinda Wolfe, the founders of the Upscale RV Resorts Facebook Group, website and mobile apps. Belinda and Jim are former full-time boaters who explored the Great Loop before transitioning out of boat life into Florida condo life. But when they got tired of their view never changing, they decided to try living in a motorhome. And almost 5 years later, they are still exploring. In this episode, they share some of their RVing stories, how full-time RVing differs from full-time boating, and how Upscale RV Resorts was born. They also share details about their resort database... what it is, who it's for and how it's grown over the years. Some of what they share might surprise you. Plus, they share their stories about RVing in New Zealand and why, even though they have RV'd in all of the other 49 US states, they've decided not to rent an RV when they visit Hawaii. They share their decades of RVing experience, why they chose a Grand Design fifth wheel as their home on wheels and parts that they carry just in case. Tami and Steve also share why they chose not to have a washer/dryer on board, how they travel with a larger RV, and tips for making sure that your carrying capacity, pin weight and overall weight is balanced and appropriate for your truck. They also share how they have dealt with health issues as full time RVers and why they continue to embrace the RV life despite some challenges along the way.
