5 Mistakes That Are Ruining Your Sales Career

It doesn't matter whether you're a seasoned sales rep or just a beginner - you will make mistakes. There are many skills that sales reps develop only with time and experience, but it's important to know there are also actions you may be doing that are costing you deals.  But don't panic just yet! After all, the sales process can be tricky to master. Most leads do not convert into a sale right away, which may tempt you to turn and burn with new leads but at the expense of neglecting your prospect pipeline.  Or suppose you've gone through the prospecting process, you've qualified your clients, and you've provided some solutions for them. But at the same time, you need to be able to serve them by qualifying and dealing with one need at a time. This is why failing to set up a follow-up system can drastically affect your ability to multitask and work with several leads at once. So, how can you avoid making these mistakes? In this episode of Close More, we're going to go over five common mistakes that may be ruining your sales career and why dealing with them properly can be the difference between you getting a nice commission check or going on weeks without getting paid. Everything You Need to Know About A2P10DLC

Over the past few months, there’s been a lot of talk about A2P 10DLC. However, not a lot of people know what A2P 10DLC is, what it stands for, or what it means for their business.  A2P 10DLC refers to a system that allows US businesses to send Application-to-Person messages to their customers via standard, 10-digit-long phone numbers.  Starting this year, all of the major service carriers in the country will require businesses that send texts to their customers to be registered in a national registry. Businesses that fail to comply - no matter their size - will see their messages end up in spam folders of their customers.  As you might expect, it comes at a cost. You might be wondering, why do you need to pay additionally for text messages when you’re already paying for a communication platform?  Well, that's what we're going to discuss today.  If you’re using a communication platform, you definitely need to know about A2P10DLC, and you need to listen to this week’s episode.  Key Takeaways: Introduction (00:00)What’s  A2P 10DLC and why do you need to pay for it (01:16)Do you need to register for A2P 10DLC (04:40)What’s the A2P 10DLC Trust Score and Campaign (08:51)Should you business be worried about A2P 10DLC (10:39)Closing thoughts (12:18)-- Additional Resources: Sign up with the iSalesCRM software and use the promo code “CloseMore” for a free month of use and $50 starting credit balance.-- Subscribe to the show on your favorite Podcast App, so you never miss an episode! Picking Your Battles & Consistency w/ Hamon Burkhardt

Today, I talked to Hamon Burkhardt about the importance of looking at sales as a career rather than a job. He is a top producer in the insurance industry and credits his success to following his passions. Many people enter the sales industry with a  defeatist mindset. The minute things get difficult (and that happens quickly), they are ready to hang up the towel and move on to the next thing. Hamon and I discuss why this attitude can keep you from the career you’ve always dreamed of. Because at the end of the day, to be successful in sales, you have to hold tight to your long-term vision. The best salespeople focus on making strong connections and creating new opportunities for themselves and those around them. Hamon shares how you can implement this mindset shift and offers his advice for setting yourself apart from the rest of the crowd. He also touches on pivoting into a leadership role and why we should be looking at sales as an art form.  If you’ve been feeling stuck and craving a jolt of momentum, then be sure to listen to today’s episode. It won’t disappoint! Key Takeaways: Introduction to Hamon (01:30)The difference between working a job and a career (03:30)What a mindset shift did for Hamon (08:05)One of the easiest industries to get into right now (13:20)Advice to set yourself apart (16:00)What it’s like being a leader (20:55)Sales is an art (25:00)How to connect with Hamon (27:40)-- Additional Resources: Sign up with the iSalesCRM software and use code promo code “CloseMore” for a free month of use and $50 starting credit balance.Connect with Hamon at enroll@ushealthadvisory.net or 561-699-9453-- Subscribe to the show on your favorite Podcast App, so you never miss an episode!
