Missing Annie Lee

This actual play podcast of two linked games of the Fear Itself tabletop RPG is a storytelling masterpiece. The games have been fully edited so that the end product hews as closely to the meat of the story as possible and the added music and sound effects beautifully accentuate the flow of the two intertwined narratives. The atmosphere is at times tense, at times sorrowful. Each character gets a psychological deep dive as they progress through the tale. Both GMs are great at setting the mood and each player's roleplaying is superb. If you like horror and tabletop RPGs, do yourself a favor and check this podcast out.

The storytelling is hypnotic and keeps you coming back for more. The two arcs work together but maintain the mysterious plot. As the story is concluding it shows talent and creativity by the developers and I am looking forward to the next one. BRAVO!

Missing Annie Lee is a beautifully produced actual play of the TTRPG Fear Itself. The setting and characters are characterized wonderfully by the cast; the mystery deepens as unsettling clues are discovered; and the two stories weave together to create a chilling & atmospheric tale of horror. The entire show sounds & feels like an audio drama of supernatural horror in the vein of Twin Peaks or IT.

This show is a tapestry of terror, weaving together two stories that take place ten years apart in the tormented town of Thornefell, Washington. It’s an absolutely intriguing storytelling device that keeps me puzzling long after each episode has ended. And it’s utterly immersive. The voice acting and production value are phenomenal, on par with genre staples TANIS and Welcome to Nightvale, and the game mechanics are virtually transparent.
