Larry Millete and how an eight-week trial with no body, no murder weapon, and no physical evidence resulted in a first-degree murder conviction in under seven hours. We discuss the dangerous line between convicting someone for toxic behavior and actually proving a case beyond a reasonable doubt. Then, we pivot to a massive systemic win out of the New Mexico Supreme Court in State v. Causey.     The People v. The Child's Black Eye

The case involved a 9-year-old boy with a black eye, allegedly punched by the client during a beach day. The police report claimed the client punched the boy in the face, but Paloma's defense was that it was an accident. Paloma, who was new to trials and faced challenges in defending her client, especially given the sensitive nature of the case involving a child's injury.
