The Sage Advice Podcast is a new weekly podcast created to help survivors of abusive relationships. Together we can navigate the lonely, often treacherous process of putting their life back together after an abusive relationship ends. Our host is Erin Callen, the founder of S.A.G.E or Surviving Abuse with Grace and Empathy. As Erin was attempting to put her life back together after leaving her own abusive relationship she felt there was something missing. Friends and family were supportive, but they didn't understand her emotions. She saw a counselor every week, which was essential, but there were so many other hours in the week and she longed to talk to someone who understood. In 2020, Erin created SAGE to help bring together victims of abuse to learn from each other, create a community and find healing. You can find workshops, mentorships and meditation classes on the SAGE website sage.community. On the Sage Advice Podcast, we will talk with other abuse survivors, supporters of survivors and allies.
Join the conversation on instagram @thesageadvicepodcast and @oursagecommunity because together we can survive abuse with grace and empathy.

#24 Tina and Mother Mary
In the midst of an abusive marriage, Tina began having a recurring dream. Every night an image would come to her, an image she dubbed 'Mother Mary,' who told her to make a rosary. Confused at first, eventually Tina decided to listen and began making rosaries. What she found was so much bigger and more important than rosary beads, she found calm in the storm of chaos. Listen to Tina tell her incredible story of reinvention and resilience. You can find Tina at solacemassage.com
#23 Janna, Woman Determined
Meet Janna, creator of WomanDetermined.com, abuse survivor and champion for others. Janna and I sit down to learn a little more about her story and the struggles we all face. After losing her father, Janna took stock of her life and realized she deserved to be treated better. However, as a stay at home mom she had little idea of where to turn. She fought every step of the way to heal herself and make sure she was financially secure. We had a great conversation and hope you enjoy.
#22 IPV and Pregnancy with Lola
Before you skip this topic, I'd encourage you to listen. IPV stands for Intimate Parter Violence. It is a hard enough topic to cover alone but when adding pregnancy to the mix it can be very hard to comprehend. But-ITS HAPPENING. It happens all the time. We have to learn to listen to the hard stuff and educate ourselves so that we can help someone in need should they ever need it. Lola does a great job with giving personal experience and information so that we can all learn and spread the message.
#21 RHONJ Margaret Jospehs!
On page 3 of her new book, Margaret Josephs describes how her father shot at her mother-on a date-after she left their abusive marriage. Right then I knew then it was going to be an interesting episode! Margaret is not only a celebrity, she is also an extremely successful entrepreneur, an author (Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget 2021) and has been through abusive relationships herself. She was so excited to come on and talk to you and we at SAGE were so excited to have her.
Thank you for sharing your story, Erin. You’ve offered hope to someone who could be living this now. It’s interesting how carefree and loving it all starts. The people who do this certainly are masters at grooming their victims. You’re given flowers and words of love very quickly, you’re pulled in, and then the process of breaking you down begins. Thank you for starting Sage. It’s definitely needed in our society. I applaud you. I happen to love you as well, my dear niece. 🌹Connie_L_C
Erin is a wonderful storyteller and interviewer. Listening to stories and getting advice from people who have experienced dealing with narcissism and abuse is empowering for those going through it. You are not alone! Take a listen.
