Shadow | Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 5 Episode 8 Review | Hellmouth Hotline

shadow | Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5 Episode 8 Review | Hellmouth Hotline This week on Hellmouth Hotline, we’re diving into Shadow — the episode where a literal shadow on a CAT scan collides with Glory’s hunt for the Key. Buffy is already getting wrecked by a god who can toss her around like a toy, and now her mom has a brain tumor. Meanwhile, the Scoobies accidentally sell Glory the exact ingredients she needs to turn a zoo cobra into a giant snake demon whose only job is to find Dawn. We break down: •  Joyce’s diagnosis and how “it’s just a shadow” becomes the episode’s emotional gut-punch •  Glory shopping at the Magic Box (and Anya’s horrified reaction when she realizes what Giles sold) •  The Spawn of Sobek — the cobra monster that actually finds Dawn •  Buffy’s raw, exhausted rage when she finally catches the thing •  Riley’s quiet (and very concerning) spiral as he keeps getting pushed further outside Buffy’s life •  Spike still lurking in the margins, doing Spike things This is the episode where the personal and the apocalyptic stop being separate problems. If you’ve ever felt the weight of trying to be the strong one while everything around you starts cracking, this one’s for you. Hit play. The Bronze is open. The stories are bloody. And some of them hit closer to home than you’d like. #BuffyTheVampireSlayer #Shadow #HellmouthHotline #Buffyverse #Season5

Annabelle Comes Home Movie Review | Hellmoutth Hotline

This week on Hellmouth Hotline, the most infamous doll in the Conjuring universe comes home—and she doesn’t come alone. Annabelle Comes Home (2019) drops a babysitter, the Warrens’ daughter Judy, and a curious friend into the one house you should never poke around in: Ed and Lorraine’s locked artifacts room. When Annabelle’s case is left open, she acts as a beacon and wakes up every cursed object in the collection—the Bride, the Ferryman, a hellhound, samurai armor, and more—turning a simple overnight into a full-blown haunted-house free-for-all. We break down the scares, the new monsters, the babysitter-horror setup, the lore connections to the rest of the Conjuring universe, what works, what feels like franchise filler, and whether this entry still delivers real dread or just a fun, jump-scare-filled ride for fans. Plus: is Annabelle still the scariest thing in the room, or has the series spread her power too thin? Tune in if you love possessed dolls, “don’t open that” artifact rooms, and no-holds-barred horror movie talk. The line is open… and something just unlocked the case on the other end.

Darla | Angel Season 2 Episode 7 Review | Hellmouth Hotline

darla | Angel Season 2 Episode 7 Review This week on Hellmouth Hotline, we dive into Angel Season 2, Episode 7: “Darla.” Angel is spiraling. Darla is back, and she’s not the same. Resurrected by Wolfram & Hart with a soul, she’s drowning in the weight of everything she did as a vampire—and Angel is desperate to reach her. Meanwhile, flashbacks take us through centuries of blood, obsession, and bad decisions: Darla’s turning by the Master, her centuries with Angelus, the night Spike was sired, and the chaos of the Boxer Rebellion. Paired with the Buffy episode “Fool for Love,” this is pure crossover energy—history repeating, souls as both gift and curse, and two people who may be worse for each other than any demon could ever be. Lindsey is caught in the middle, Wolfram & Hart is pulling strings, and the past refuses to stay buried. We break down the flashbacks, the performances, the emotional wreckage, and why this episode hits so hard for Angel and Darla fans. The line is open… and something from the past is answering.

Fool for Love | Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 5 Episode 7 Review | Hellmouth Hotline

Fool for Love | Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5 Episode 7 Review | Hellmouth Hotline Buffy almost dies to a nobody vampire. Then she does the only logical thing: drag Spike out of his crypt, buy him drinks, and make him recount every Slayer he’s ever killed. This week on Hellmouth Hotline we’re diving into Fool for Love — the episode that finally gives us William the Bloody’s origin, two legendary Slayer deaths, a subway fight that still slaps, and one of the most devastating “you’re beneath me” moments in the entire series. We break down: •  William the failed poet vs. the monster he becomes •  Spike’s first Slayer kill during the Boxer Rebellion •  Nikki Wood on the New York subway •  That death-wish monologue •  The porch scene that quietly wrecks both of them •  How this episode rewires Spike, Buffy, and the rest of Season 5 If you’ve ever argued about whether Spike was always a little bit in love with dying (or with her), this is the one. Hit play. The bronze is open. The stories are bloody. And some of them might even be true. #BuffyTheVampireSlayer #FoolForLove #HellmouthHotline #Spike #Buffyverse

The Curse of La Llorona Movie Review | Hellmouth Hotline

This week on Hellmouth Hotline, we dive into the foggy, tear-soaked nightmare that is The Curse of La Llorona. Based on the chilling Mexican legend of the Weeping Woman, this 2019 supernatural horror film brings the folklore to life with ghostly cries, haunted children, and enough jump scares to make you check every dark corner of your room. We break down what works, what falls flat, and whether this entry in the Conjuring universe actually delivers the scares or just leaves you crying for better writing. Tune in if you love folklore horror, spectral mothers with unfinished business, or just need someone to scream into the void with you about another mid-tier ghost movie. The line is open… and something is crying on the other end.

Guise Will Be Guise | Angel Season 2 Episode 6 Review | Hellmouth Hotline

In this episode of Hellmouth Hotline, we dig into Angel Season 2, Episode 6: “Guise Will Be Guise.” Wesley has to pretend to be Angel when Angel leaves town… and the consequences are pure chaos. What starts as a seemingly simple case quickly spirals into identity crises, demonic power plays, and the kind of awkward (and dangerous) misunderstandings only the Angel Investigations crew can create. Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn are forced to navigate a world where appearances can’t be trusted, while Angel confronts what it really means to be seen—or not seen—for who he is. We break down the episode’s sharp mix of comedy and darker undertones, the standout character moments, the guest stars, and how this installment fits into Season 2’s bigger picture. Plus our usual ranking, favorite lines, and whether this one still holds up. Tune in for the full review—because on the Hellmouth, things are rarely what they seem.
