    David Cronenberg Appreciation Month - "The Fly"

    An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started in the late 1960's! It's a month long celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 2nd episode is based upon Cronenberg's only filmed remake to date with the 1986 body horror classic "THE FLY".  Starring Jeff Goldblum,  Geena Davis and John Getz.  A remake of the 1958 black & white classis starring Vincent Price. It's a twisted tale of a scientist gone mad that results in a botched experiment that transmutes the man into a monstrous insect. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart, we assure you. It begs the question of what happens when a man tries to play God and what the consequences can be.  If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by Cameron Scott and Tom Komisar, the hosting duo of "Grindhouse Pizzeria". Our 1st episode is on a very intense thriller and more recent directorial effort with the shocking 2022 release "CRIMES OF THE FUTURE".  Starring Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux, and Kristen Stewart.  It's an odd tale of an alternative future where the human body has learned to adapt to an overly synthetic environment with new organ transformations and mutations.  Thus, turning these new mutations into avant-garde performance pieces to a public where 'surgery is the new sex.'  Not for the squeamish or faint of heart, we assure you. If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by Patty and Cameron Scott, the married duo with a deep love of the mad and the macabre.     On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon" which celebrates anything related to Charles Bands Empire of Full Moon Pictures, we're going way back to the Paramount Pictures days in our 43rd episode with the sci-fi soft core romp that was the first from the sub-label Surrender Cinema "VIRTUAL ENCOUNTERS " from 1996.  Directed by Cybil Richards and starring Elizabeth Kaitan, Taylor St. Clair, Rob Lee, Jacqueline Lovell, and more.  This soft-core late night Skinnemax tale centers around Amy, a mild mannered woman who is gifted a Virtual Reality package labelled Virtual Encounters from her lover Michael to help with her sexual inhibitions.  Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they take a deep dive discussion on the story of Amy's road to sexual freedom via sci-fi virtual reality!     Sequel Too, Deja Vu - "Basket Case 3: The Progeny"

    On this show, our specialty is sequels, sequels, and more sequels.  From the good ones, to the bad ones, to the really ugly ones, we'll be covering them all!  We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more.  For our 29th episode, we'll be taking on the wacky and wild 3rd chapter in the Basket Case series with "BASKET CASE 3: THE PROOGENY" from 1992. This film is once again written and directed by genre great Frank Henenlotteer (Basket Case 1-3, Brain Damage, Frankenhooker) and stars Kevin VanHentenryck as Duane Bradley once more, and co-stars Annie Ross as Granny Ruth. This sequel finds our Bradley twins, Duane and the monstrous Belial, picking up right where part two left off with the two of them not on the greatest of terms. This time however, Belial is about to be a daddy! And they're going to need a bigger basket. Get ready to join our hosts Cameron Scott and Dustin Hubbard (Howling At The Full Moon) as they dissect and take a deep dive into a world filled with Bradley twin shenanigans, a Casey (Beverly Bonner cameo), freakishly fantastic kills, Jolt Cola product placement, sing-a-longs, makeshift Transformer mech suits, and more!     On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon" which celebrates anything related to Charles Bands Empire of Full Moon Pictures, we're going way back to the Empire Pictures days in our 42nd episode with the sci-fi horror Western effort from the late Empire Pictures days "GHOST TOWN" from 1988.  Directed by Richard McCarthy and starring Frank Luz, Catherine Hickland, Jimmie F. Skaggs, Bruce Glover, Michael Alldredge, and more.  This is strange tale of cowboys vs ghosts when a runaway bride gets kidnapped by the undead and only our intrepid deputy can bring her back from the ghost town alive!  Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they take a deep dive discussion on the fable of Devilish Devlin vs crack-shot Deputy Langley at high noon in paranormal town! Join us!   "I will walk these streets for a thousand years!"

    Grindhouse Pizzeria - "Death Race 2000"

    On Episode 32 of our show "Grindhouse Pizzeria" which is dedicated to all things encompassing various Grindhouse, Drive-In, and Exploitation genres; we will be reviewing and dissecting a true classick of the Roger Corman era with 1975's "DEATH RACE 2000". Directed by Paul Bartel (Eating Raoul and Cannonball!) and starring an array of icons including David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone, Mary Woronov, Don Steele,  and many more. This is a legendary cult film, which spawned a much belated sequel in 2017 titled Death Race 2050 and a remake starring Jason Statham in 2008 (which had its own series of straight to video sequels). It's a truly ridiculous satire tale of a dystopian future where a the new national sport is a cross country road race where the drivers collect points by running down pedestrians. Sound wacky? It has to be seen to be believed!  Our discussion is headed off by our regular hosts Tom Komisar and Cameron Scott!     On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon" which celebrates anything related to Charles Bands Empire of Full Moon Pictures, we're going way back to the Empire Pictures days in our 41st episode with the sci-fi fantasy effort "SLAVE GIRLS FROM BEYOND INFINITY" from 1987.  Directed by Ken Dixon and starring Scream Queens Elizabeth Kaitan (Friday the 13th 7: The New Blood) and Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre.) This is the futuristic tale of space babes that crash land on a distant planet who are subsequently hunted for sport in a comedic take on The Most Dangerous Game. It's the 80's era here and this film is filled with buxom babes, model spacehips, matte paintings, miniature special effects, and arguing temperamental robots!  Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they take a deep dive discussion onthe adventures of Daria, Tisa, and Shayla as they fight for their lives against the villainous Zed.  Join us!   "I have a strangest feeling that the normal laws of time and space no longer apply."

    Cinema Degeneration Presents - "Demon Wind: Full Length Commentary"

    'Cinema Degeneration Presents' is a podcast that aims to be an all-encompassing show that doesn't limit itself to one topic or genre. We'll be covering all sorts of movies, books, music and more. There will be solo reviews and group chats with multiple different guest hosts and interviews.  Sometimes there will be themed segments such as "How The F$%k Did That Get Made", "The Good, The Bad, The Independent", "Why Is That Not Eric Roberts?" and iterations of past shows like Old Not Obsolete and This Is Your Brain On Film.  For our 7th episode we are bringing you something we haven't done in quite some time, a feature length commentary track from our three hosts Patty Scott, Cameron Scott, and Korey Dawson. We will be dissecting the 1990 schlocky cult classic "DEMON WIND" from director Charles Philip Moore (Blackbelt, Angel Of Destruction, Dance With Death).  Our hosts will take you on a trip through this comedic supernatural thriller that is a wild story about a group of friends that visit a remote run down cabin in the middle of nowhere who then end up being caught up in black magic and demonic shenanigans. Filled with crazy characters, wild scenarios, and out of this world special effects where hilarity ensues.  This movie has to be seen to be believed.  Join us in celebration of this insane and definitely weird movie!   "Alright, let's dance!"
