    Introducing the Injury Prevention Podcast, presented by the University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center. The Injury Prevention Center is one of 9 injury control research centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention. Our interdisciplinary Center conducts, translates, and accelerates injury prevention research into practice and policy to reduce the burden of injuries across the Great Lakes and US. As a center, we are proud to support the training and education of future injury prevention specialists through pilot funding for innovative research projects, our internship program, and through the Certificate in Injury Science that we sponsor through the University of Michigan School of Public Health. We created this podcast series with students and trainees in mind to introduce our partners, share information about careers in injury prevention, and build community among students and professionals working in the field. Hosted by Amy Rooker, MPH,  a coordinator for the Injury Prevention Center since July of 2019. Amy graduated graduating with a MPH in May of 2019, and is excited to use her perspective as a new injury scientist to help current students and trainees discover the field as well. In this first ever episode, we feature a profile in injury prevention. Amy will be speaking with Deltavier Robertson, MPH. Deltavier holds an MPH from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and she is currently the Michigan Core Violence and Injury Prevention Program Coordinator with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Listen as Amy and Deltavier discuss what injury prevention is, why it is important, Deltavier's career journey thus far, and advice for current students interested in injury prevention.
