In the last episode of our mini-series on Immunizations Updates, we are joined again by pediatric nurse practitioner, Dr. Maddie Manfredi, for a live role-play extended episode focused on motivational interviewing (MI) in the setting of vaccine hesitancy. During 5 cases built around common worries surrounding pediatric vaccines, Dr. Manfredi uses evidence-based approaches to explore hesitancy and reach a common goal– a child’s health and well-being. The cases cover: - Immune system overload - Misinformation and distrust - The autism myth - Preference for a natural lifestyle - Low risk disease perception This episode demonstrates what a therapeutic relationship looks like and how to navigate real-world conversations with caregivers across a spectrum of hesitancy. Through five case-based scenarios, listeners will hear MI techniques applied in real time and walk away with practical scripts and strategies to use in clinical encounters.
