Episode 11 : An Interview with Kate Allen

Stuttering Through Life is back with this lovely interview with Kate Allen. Kate is a person who stutters who works in the healthcare finance industry and has a fantastic attitude about her stutter. She tells some great stories about being confident and up front about her stutter, especially in the workplace and when she waitresses. Episode 10 : Do's and Don'ts (but mostly Don'ts) for People Who Don't Stutter

Are you a person who does NOT stutter? Well this episode is for you! Kacie, a fellow a teen who stutters, and I have compiled a list of things NOT to do when interacting with someone who stutters. Even though people who don't stutter can benefit from all Stuttering Through Life episodes, this is the episode for you if you are not very familiar with stuttering. Especially if you don't know much about stuttering, it's easy and understandable to react to a person who stutters in a way that is well-intending, but is actually hurtful. This episode tells you exactly what to avoid and how to make you and the person you're talking to as comfortable as possible. Meet Sophie Tabrizi! Sophie has done incredible things for the stuttering community even at a young age, and her confidence about her speech is inspirational. Sophie and I had the same speech therapist Loryn McGill, interviewed in Episode 5, and Sophie went through a journey of courage and self-acceptance.
