The rest of 2026 in Cinema! | We Needed Roads Podcast

With just ¼ of 2026 left, Neil, David, Jose and Luke take a look at the films still coming to cinemas for the rest of the year — the ones we're genuinely excited about, the ones we've somehow never heard of, and the ones we have absolutely NO interest in seeing and should be immediately fired into the sun. There's Brad Pitt and a dog, Andrew Garfield fighting peasants as Wat Tyler (although apparently someone briefly thought he was Robin Hood?), a man getting swallowed by an 80-foot sperm whale, stop-motion emotional devastation, KAIJUS, video game adaptations, horror, superheroes, anniversary screenings and a whole lot more. And we're not doing it alone! We've also taken your comments and messages into account, with our viewers and listeners telling us which films THEY are looking forward to seeing at the cinema before the end of 2026.Then, as if that wasn't enough, each of us picks our Top 3 films we're most excited to see before the end of the year — so which films made the cut?And then, on December 18th, two tiny little indie films nobody has heard of are coming out...Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday. It's going to be a busy few months at the cinema.Find out what we're watching in the latest episode of We Needed Roads! If you enjoy the episode, don't forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and hit that notification bell! And let us know in the comments: what films are YOU most looking forward to seeing at the cinema for the rest of 2026? Did we miss anything? Are we completely wrong about any of our picks? And which films should be fired immediately into the sun?You can also find We Needed Roads wherever you get your podcasts, and follow us on social media for more film, TV and general nerdy nonsense.

The Queer Pop Culture Quiz | We Needed Roads Podcast

After being forced to endure quizzes on subjects she had absolutely no interest in — Horror, Christmas and all manner of nonsense — it's finally Marie's turn in the big chair! This time, Neil, Luke, David & Jose are being put through the Queer Pop Culture Quiz, as Marie tests four straight guys on the ultimate question:Are they actually good allies… or are they about to embarrass themselves spectacularly? David is already worried he's going to get absolutely nothing right. Neil is quietly confident when it comes to the TV and film questions, but he's also keeping one eye on Jose, convinced that Jose is going to say something that gets the entire podcast cancelled. Jose, meanwhile, thinks Neil is the one most likely to put his foot in it. And Luke? Luke is just happy to be here. So after years of everyone else getting to test their knowledge on subjects that Marie couldn't care less about, the power is finally hers. But will Marie be a fair and just Quiz Master?Or will the power go straight to her head? There is as always in our quiz episodes copious amounts of swearing, blatant cheating and at least one person throwing their toys out of the pram in an almighty show of poor sportsmanship…I’ll let you guess who that is, and guess what you’ll learn something - we sure did! Play along at home and let us know how you scored in the comments!!! THE FREDDY GOT FINGERED INCIDENT! From We Needed Roads 200th Episode

Sometimes a film review goes exactly as planned. And sometimes… it becomes podcast folklore.Back in the early days of We Needed Roads, we let YOU decide what film we should review by voting on social media. Neil’s friend Jamie took this responsibility very, very seriously… voting a lot for one particular film until Tom Green’s gloriously unhinged comedy Freddy Got Fingered was chosen.Neil was already a fan.David, however, had never seen it.So David did what any loving fiancé would do… he sat down with his fiancée to watch Freddy Got Fingered. What happened next has gone down in We Needed Roads history as simply…THE INCIDENT. 💀Now, for the 200th episode, the full team reunites to revisit the story, relive the chaos and decide whether David was justified in his reaction or whether Neil was right all along. But the big question is…👀 Whose side will Ben take?🤔 Will Luke defend David?😂 Will Jose choose chaos?😐 And will Marie even care? One film. One questionable social media poll. One unforgettable viewing experience. This is the story of… THE FREDDY GOT FINGERED INCIDENT.

Doctor Sleep Vs. The Shining | Neils Hot Take! | From We Needed Roads 200th Episode

We’re going back to Episode 1 of We Needed Roads and revisiting one of the most controversial opinions in podcast history…👉 Neil said Doctor Sleep is better than The Shining.Yes. Really. Now, years later, Neil and David are back to settle the argument once and for all. Was Neil onto something? Has David finally accepted the truth? Or is saying Doctor Sleep is better than The Shining still one of the most outrageous takes ever recorded on the podcast? And this time, Ben is back to throw his opinion into the mix… while Jose, Marie & Luke reveal themselves to be the biggest scaredy cats in the We Needed Roads family, having not seen one — or, in some cases, either — of these films! 😂We revisit the original argument, and see whether anyone has changed their minds.

THE ULTIMATE WE NEEDED ROADS EPISODE! | 200 Episodes, Film Favourites & WNR Lore

We’ve been a bit quiet recently, but there’s a very good reason WE NEEDED ROADS HAS HIT 200 EPISODES! And rather than doing something sensible, we got everyone together and talked absolute nonsense for 3 HOURS & 51 MINUTES. Neil. David. Jose. Marie. Luke & a mystery returning guest...? So what the hell have we packed into this monster? 🛣️ The history & highlights of 199 episodes 🥪 Dr Sleep vs The Shining 👉 The Freddy Got Fingered Incident 🎬 Our favourite films of all time, across genres and categories including: 💥 Action 😂 Comedy 👹 Horror 🐉 Fantasy 🚀 Sci-Fi 😳 Guilty Pleasure 🌈 Queer🎨 Animation 🦸 Comic Book 2️⃣ Sequels 🎭 Actor/Actress 🎬 Director 🎵 Soundtrack ❤️ Romance 🗣️ Most Quoted 💎 Underrated 🎞️ And the film that made you love cinema And then we dive DEEP into the WNR pod lore… 🧮 Neil's frankly insane ranking system — #NeilMaths 🌈 Marie’s most frequently asked question whenever we choose something to podcast about:“But is it gay?” 💍 Marie must name her No.1 fictional husband from her ever-expanding harem. ❤️ And then, because apparently we’ve all lost our minds, the rest of us reveal our fictional husbands and wives. 🎸 Our mystery guest shares stories from his dealings with two actors who ventured into music — including Keanu Reeves and Jared Leto — and reveals exactly what you'd think! 📊 We reveal our Top 5 most popular episodes of all time 📱 And our most popular short-form clips ❤️ Before finally getting a little bit serious and talking about what being part of We Needed Roads has meant to each of us over the years. And because apparently 3 hours and 51 minutes still wasn't enough…🎬 STICK AROUND FOR THE POST-CREDIT SCENES. 200 episodes. 3 hours. 42 minutes. Nearly 4 hours of WNR history, chaos, arguments, questionable opinions and questionable life choices. We’ve clearly learned absolutely nothing. Thank you to every single Roadie who has listened, watched, shared, commented, argued with us and stuck around through all 200 episodes. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. ❤️Here’s to the next 200!!!
