Breathwork - what is it and why is it awesome for your health?

Breathwork - what is it and why is it awesome for your health?

In this episode Claire & Gemma talk about breath, not only does it keep us alive – no shit Sherlock...
Once we are aware of our breath and work with it in different ways, we can begin to explore how it can help us with the following:
     • Aid positive self-development
     • Processes emotions
     • Heals emotional pain and trauma
     • Develops our levels of self-awareness
     • Improves relationships
     • Enhances our confidence and self esteem
     • Overcoming addiction
     • Decrease, even eliminate - anger, anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD and more
     • Oh yeah – Can help us to have a better sex life and reach orgasm just through breath work
The Sanskrit word for Breath is Prana, breath work in Sanskrit is known as Prana Yama. Also translated as the vital life force energy.
The breath is an amazing gift that we can use to lead us into a life of healthier, stress-free life, full of conscious creation and connection as opposed to a life of separateness and lack.
Once you understand the power of the breath, the mind and heart you can choose to change your life quickly in any area – such as personal relationships, business, career, dreams, goals, finances.
Claire demonstrates some quick and simple breath work techniques for different results as Gemma tests them out and talks us through 😊 as always the professional.

REFLECTION, VISION BOARDS, IDENTITY BASED GOALS AND HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS IN 2022

REFLECTION, VISION BOARDS, IDENTITY BASED GOALS AND HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS IN 2022

The power of reflective practice, vision boarding and how to use identity-based goals to achieve your dreams in 2022 is the topic of this Honest to Gob podcast.

Claire and Gem talk in this episode about the power of reflection and how to look back over the difficult year that has been 2021, achievements and challenges, vision boarding, boredom, work, books and retreats.
Where are you with your reflections and learnings on 2021? What have you learned about yourself? What can you take with you in 2022 that will support you in your goals and dreams? What does the future look like for you in 12 months, what are the things you are going to be doing with your daily decisions? What small steps are you going to take to get you to where you need to be?What is your word of the year for 2022?Gemma’s word of the year is strength, and she wants to be strong mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. She's also dropping specific goals for 2022 and instead focusing on identity-based goals and figuring out what kind of person who is strong in body, mind and spirit does on a daily basis.

Claire wants to write a full book, after having a taste of writing a chapter for a collab book in 2020 – so Gemma asked what does somebody who wants to write a book be doing? Claire will be following suit and Gemma will be helping (since she’s written 3 best sellers).

Claire's word of the year is collaboration and she'll be making sure she asks for the help she needs to achieve her goals. Claire also revealed she's been putting plans in place to organise some in-person retreats so if you'd like to join us on a powerful spiritual jolly to Wales click here: https://thepurpose-pusher.com/retreats/

The biggest takeaway from this podcast was this powerful question posed by Claire:
What would your day look like if you came out of your head and into your heart?

Mentioned in the podcast: Tips for Vision Boards
A vision board is something to help you visualise your goals and dreams to help and support you in achieving them.

It’s a physical collection of items such as pictures, magazine cut outs, words and quotes that visually affirm your goals and dreams. You could also just write it out as a series of words in a mind map format.

ZOË DEW - ARE HARD BOUNDARIES RUDE? ARE VOICE NOTES SELFISH? HOW TO HAVE BETTER BOUNDARIES AT WORK

ZOË DEW - ARE HARD BOUNDARIES RUDE? ARE VOICE NOTES SELFISH? HOW TO HAVE BETTER BOUNDARIES AT WORK

Zoë Dew is the operations manager for Lisa Johnson the online business strategist and passive income expert. She left running her own business to become a very happy employee, working in a team she adores.

As Lisa's business has grown at an exciting and impressive rate, Zoë finds herself acting as the gatekeeper and gets inundated with voice notes, Facebook messenger messages and Loom videos... which she ignores! She's not rude, she's just setting boundaries.

In this episode, she talks about why boundaries are essential for yourself, your clients, your family and friends. Zoë got really honest about her previous roles; like the football club job she was sacked from, feeling brain fried by constant messages working in the wedding industry and how running her own business forced her to have boundaries.

In addition to some stellar advice about setting boundaries - particular in your communication style, Zoë chatted about her love of Instagram stories. Seriously, go follow her she is freakin' hilarious and so down to earth! www.instagram.com/zoerdew

After we recorded this episode and Zoë left the studio, Gem, Claire and producer Jacob ended up in a deep conversation about all the ways in which we are feeling fried by people having constant access to us. It opened up a conversation between us about how we allow ourselves to be 'on' all the time for people and what else we could do to ensure we protect our mental energy while being clear and kind to the clients we serve, the people we work with and our loved ones.

Zoë is straight to the point, funny and brilliant. Let this episode inspire you to think about your boundaries, particularly at work, and how you can start to set some hard and fast rules about how people get to access your time, energy and valuable mental space.

Thank you to Zoë for taking the time to chat to us and inspire us with your wit and wisdom.

HOW TO BE YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF

HOW TO BE YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF

In this episode of Honest to Gob podcast, Claire opens up about having a crap week.

Imposter syndrome had crept in and she'd been comparing herself to others.

It isn't something she usually does but everyone falls victim to 'mind monkeys' at times.

In this episode we discuss authenticity and the masks we wear in our work and our real lives.

We also talk about the struggle many entrepreneurs face with loneliness and selling themselves - something they rely on for their livelihood.

GOB OFF - This week's gob off is Claire talking about her utterly crap nails and how much of a show they are!

How do we become our authentic selves?  Join in the discussion on the @honesttogobpod social media channels.

“Can hangovers kill you!?” GEM'S SOBRIETY JOURNEY

“Can hangovers kill you!?” GEM'S SOBRIETY JOURNEY

This episode is all about sobriety and in particular the issues that people have with the word ‘sober’.

No, it doesn’t mean you’re an addict but it does mean you choose to turn your back on substances that you know aren’t helping you live your best life.

In this extremely open and honest podcast, Gemma opens up about the reason she became sober curious in the first place “I thought I’d killed my son” and Claire shares her story of going booze-free for 100 days.

In this episode, we reference a variety of helpful podcasts, organisations and individuals for anyone else feeling sober curious.

    GOBBING OFF

*New*! As this podcast is all about being honest to gob, we thought we’d have a new feature called ‘Gobbing Off!’ where we share the stuff that’s been twisting our t**s and making us have sandy vaginas.

We invite YOU to get involved in this too!

Leave us a DM voice note on Instagram and let us know what YOU are gobbing off about. In sending us a voice note you agree to be featured on the podcast so you can choose to change your name if you want. In this episode, Gemma was gobbing off about women not knowing how to check their boobs properly after having a breast cancer scare. Leave us your gob off - www.instagram.com/honesttogobpod

Is it day 4 of your period or 4 days after your period ends?
We couldn't find a definitive answer on this so have decided that we will check on both occasions! So day 4 of our period and then 4 days after our period ends (which would probably work out 10 days after period starts).
