The Al Galdi Podcast

For Washington Sports fans, Al is a must listen to get full coverage on all the Washington area sports teams. Great insight and conversation every day on the Commanders.

I remember listening to you on the radio in my dad’s car as a kid, so although the audio quality is way better, things have really come full circle. Don’t feel too old, I’ve only joined the workforce in the past couple of years. I inherited my Redskin/football team/Commander fandom from my aforementioned dad, which makes me think who has had it worse as a fan. My dad has seen the pinnacle of the skins: three Super Bowl wins, and two more appearances. I, on the other hand, have only witnessed a handful of playoff seasons, even fewer of which I was actually a diehard fan for. Obviously the 2024 season was an absolute thrill, albeit with a disappointing ending, but I still wonder; who has had it worse? A young fan who has come to expect disappointment? Or an old fan who once expected excellence, but has been nothing since disappointed for the last 25 years? It seems to me that it is a bit of a loved and lost argument. From my perspective, I always found it difficult to debate with New York, Philly and Dallas fans in the halls of Bethesda Chevy Chase high school (Go Barons) why we were the superior franchise based on accomplishments from before my birth. Anyways I would love to hear your thoughts. Love the pod, and HTTC!

Al, you’ve been one of my primary sources of DC sports media for years! I looked forward to your 980 radio shows on my long commutes and now I look forward to your daily podcasts! As a diehard fan of Redskins/Commanders, Terps, Capitals and a sports psychologist who appreciates all sports, I value how you integrate your subjective love for these teams with your objective analysis to bring content that is fun, interesting, and informative. I’m anxious to hear your take on the recent Commanders crisis with the Tunsil injury. #HTTR #HTTC!

With apologies to James Brown, Al Galdi is the hardest working man in show business. I enjoy his analysis and insightful guests and I appreciate his inclusion of the Orioles in his podcast, who became my team when the Senators left my childhood for Texas. Thanks, Al, from a PG County boy now living in Oregon. HTTR.
