    Framing: Positionality and Privilege.

This is a quick clip where we want to clarify our identities and place in making this podcast. We distinguish that we are not members of the fat community and expand on the meaning of thin privilege. If you’re a new listener this is a great place to start!  Acknowledgments Theme music: Gardener by Evenings Privilege list pulled from: Skinny Privilege:Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack

Welcome to Fat Forward! Let’s Talk About Fat.

Hello! In this episode we introduce ourselves and state our positionalities through the telling of our body size stories. We lay out the basic platform from which we explore fat studies by stating common myths around fat and answering the question: what is fat? Please be mindful as you listen to this episode that there is mention of food restriction, eating disorders, negative experiences around body size, weight loss surgery, and also we swear sometimes...
