    The great Jack Douglas passed away earlier this week and we over at the LIFERS podcast —much like the rest of the world— have been thinking about him and all the wonderful records he helped to make. Scott was lucky enough to work with Jack on Local H’s fourth record (HERE COMES THE ZOO) and one of the last conversations they had with each other was actually an interview recorded at Gman Tavern in Chicago — which was then aired on episode 155 of our show. So 100 episodes later — here it is again. Unfortunately for you (and very fortunately for Scott) all the best stories were told beforehand over drinks at the bar. It was one of many priceless experiences Scott got to have with him. R.I.P., Jack.

We also talk about the ‘90s Champaign scene, the ‘90s Chicago scene, Menthol is Mother, Poster Children, Hum, Honcho Overload, Menthol’s beleaguered and brilliant second (third?) record DANGER: ROCK SCIENCE!, working at R. Kelly’s studio, working for the Smashing Pumpkins, and OH, YEAH! Menthol is playing with Smoking Popes and Scott tonight in Milwaukee at X-Ray Arcade. Don’t forget your amp, Baltie!

But that’s not all! Scott is mad as hell and he’s not gonna take it anymore — so he also unleashes his inner-Howard Beal on internet trolls, mean music festivals, loud yawners, contractual indecencies, AI dogs, and (especially) those dipshit comment sections. It’s one battle after another over here at The LIFERS Podcast and nobody is safe.
