    Chiefs beat Broncos instant reaction

    THE CHIEFS JUST SENT A MESSAGE TO THE ENTIRE NFL…JV breaks down the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominant 31-10 Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos and explains why Kansas City might have completely reinvented itself heading into 2026. Instead of relying on Patrick Mahomes to carry the offense through the air, Andy Reid leaned heavily into a physical ground-and-pound attack led by Kenneth Walker, who absolutely exploded in his Chiefs debut with 173 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries while adding another touchdown through the air. Walker looked like a legitimate top-five running back, displaying elite speed, acceleration, vision, contact balance, and explosiveness, while Emmett Johnson flashed serious potential behind him and gave Kansas City a dangerous one-two punch out of the backfield. Mahomes wasn’t perfect through the air, finishing with 184 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, but his mobility coming off an ACL injury was incredibly encouraging, including a 15-yard rushing touchdown that sent Arrowhead into a frenzy. More importantly, Mahomes no longer looked like he needed to create everything himself because Kansas City finally had a dominant rushing attack supporting him. Defensively, Steve Spagnuolo once again showed why he remains one of the NFL’s elite defensive minds, as the Chiefs consistently pressured Bo Nix, blanketed Denver’s weapons in coverage, and completely shut down an offense that added Jalen Waddle to an already talented group. On Denver’s side, JV breaks down a disastrous offensive performance from Bo Nix and new play caller Davis Webb, questionable decisions to abandon a run game that was actually finding success, costly turnovers, penalties, drops, poor execution in the red zone, and an inability to consistently get Courtland Sutton involved. Denver’s defense wasn’t much better, struggling to tackle and repeatedly getting punished by Kansas City’s running backs as the game slipped away.     NFL WEEK 1 RECAP: Allen, Lamar, Caleb & MORE

    NFL WEEK 1 WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE…JV breaks down an unbelievable first Sunday of the 2026 NFL season, starting with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills making a massive statement by going into Houston and beating the Texans 36-31. Allen delivered 350 total yards and four touchdowns against a defense that has historically given him problems, while Dalton Kincaid exploded for 130 receiving yards, DJ Moore delivered 100 yards and a touchdown in his Bills debut, and Joe Brady’s offense looked like one of the most dangerous units in football. Buffalo’s defense was far more concerning, particularly in the secondary, but Greg Rousseau delivered a monster performance when the Bills needed him most to help secure the win. Then JV dives into the absolute shootout between Chicago and Carolina, where Caleb Williams accounted for four total touchdowns as the Bears dropped 59 points behind an explosive Ben Johnson offense featuring huge performances from D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. Bryce Young answered with 360 passing yards and four total touchdowns of his own while continuing to show major development alongside an impressive Jalen Coker, but Carolina simply couldn’t overcome a disastrous defensive performance. In Baltimore, Lamar Jackson immediately reminded everyone why he remains one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks, combining for 364 total yards and two touchdowns as the Ravens dominated Indianapolis 41-23. Derrick Henry added 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Declan Doyle’s offense and Jesse Minter’s revamped defense helped Baltimore look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender from the opening week. JV then breaks down Philadelphia’s 24-22 divisional win over Washington, where Jalen Hurts delivered three passing touchdowns and flashed improved mobility and elite deep-ball accuracy, but major concerns remain surrounding the Eagles’ offensive line and their ability to consistently sustain drives. Finally, JV reacts to the Giants’ statement 28-20 primetime victory over Dallas, as John Harbaugh immediately brought a completely different level of energy to New York.     The 49ers belted the Rams in week 1 (Game Reaction)

    THE 49ERS JUST DESTROYED THE RAMS IN WEEK 1…JV breaks down everything that happened in the San Francisco 49ers’ dominant 27-7 Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Rams and explains why a healthy Niners team might legitimately be one of the five best teams in football. Brock Purdy responded to an early interception with an outstanding performance, showcasing his mobility, pocket presence, confidence, and ability to create outside of Kyle Shanahan’s system while once again making his case as one of the NFL’s most underrated quarterbacks. But the biggest story was Shanahan completely outcoaching Sean McVay, using quick throws, screens, motion, and creative play designs to neutralize Myles Garrett and a loaded Rams defensive front while consistently putting San Francisco’s playmakers in advantageous situations. That included Mike Evans, who immediately showed why he can still be a major weapon at this stage of his career, becoming a reliable third-down and red-zone target for Purdy while finishing with six catches, 49 yards, and a touchdown. Defensively, Raheem Morris’ debut could hardly have gone better, with Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Nick Bosa, and the rest of San Francisco’s defense constantly pressuring Matthew Stafford and making one of the NFL’s most talented offenses look completely out of rhythm. On the Rams side, Stafford struggled badly, finishing with just 155 passing yards, an interception, and a 61.2 passer rating, while Garrett was largely neutralized and Los Angeles failed to consistently get Puka Nacua or Davante Adams involved. Kyren Williams and Blake Corum provided one of the few bright spots with an impressive performance on the ground, but JV explains why some of the Rams’ biggest weaknesses from last season—particularly the secondary and special teams—still appeared to be major problems in Week 1.
