Domestic violence, abuse, miscarriage, and survival. Shawnise Huskey joins Gam and Mz Gogetta on Wait A Gam Minute Podcast to share her heartbreaking journey of surviving domestic violence from ages 16 to 22, while fighting to give her son the two-parent household she always wanted.Shawnise opens up about being physically abused for the first time while pregnant, a pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. She became pregnant again shortly afterward, but the abuse continued. And what makes her story even more complicated? She admits there were good times, too. It wasn’t always abuse. There were moments of love, laughter, and happiness. After the violence came the apologies, and she continued giving grace to someone she loved, even when he didn’t deserve it.But things eventually spiraled out of control.Shawnise recalls the terrifying moment her son tried calling 911 to save his mother, only for his father to snatch the phone from the wall. She'll never forget the fear and helplessness she saw in her son’s eyes. During another violent encounter, she was slammed and strangled to the point where she believed her life was about to end. As she looked into his dark eyes, desperately trying to reason with him, she recalls hearing God audibly tell her, “That wasn’t him.”And what she prayed for while believing she was about to die will leave you speechless. She prayed that her mother and sister would forgive him and, most importantly, that her son would never grow up repeating the violence he had witnessed against his own mother.Imagine fighting for your last breath and still thinking about protecting the people you love, including the person hurting you.Behind closed doors, Shawnise was battling depression, shame, fear, and the pressure of keeping her family together. She kept the abuse from her loved ones because she feared being judged. How do you walk away from someone you love when the good memories keep reminding you of who you hoped they could be?This conversation goes deeper than domestic violence. It’s about what people don’t see: the pain survivors hide, the children who witness it, the grace we give, and the strength it takes to survive.🔔𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.https://www.youtube.com/@WaitAGamMinutePodcast/?sub_confirmation=1 ⭐⭐⭐Audio Podcast is currently on your favorite platforms:ApplePodcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/wait-a-gam-minute-podcast/id1554676679 Google Podcast:https://music.youtube.com/googlepodcasts ✅ Important Link to Follow🔗 Linktreehttps://linktr.ee/WaitAGamMinutePodcast🔗 Stay Connected With Us.Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/waitagamminutepodcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/waitagamminute/Website: https://waitagamminute.net/ 📩 For business inquiries: 1gamminute@gmail.com =============================✅ About Wait A Gam Minute Podcast.Welcome to Wait A Gam Minute Podcast, the unapologetic and unfiltered podcast where real conversations happen.
