Project Management as a Career in Tech and a Skill for Life with Robbin Simpkins

Tech companies will always initiate projects to increase revenue, minimize cost, and boost efficiency. With high salaries, high demand, and plenty of variety at work, Project Management is definitely a good career in tech.  According to a recent report from the Project Management Institute, there’s such a drastic shortage of Project Managers relative to demand. The report found that on an annual basis, employers will need to fill nearly 2.2 million new project-oriented roles each year through 2027. Further, the report found $208 billion is at risk due to that anticipated project management shortage.  How can you get into Project Management? What are the core competencies and certifications needed to not just become a project manager but take your career to the next level? This month we sit down with Robbin Simpkins - Senior Manager of Services Improvement. She has over a decade of experience in Project Management in Information Technology & Services in both the start-up and corporate spaces. She shares with us insights into her life, growing up in Arkansas, and how she leveraged her project management skills to propel her career and realize her success.
