    232. Buzzballz

In this episode, Another absolutely cooked episode of CSP is here, and somehow we’ve managed to cover Buzzballs, the Roosters winning the NRL Grand Final, Messi retiring from international football and why you should probably never trust us with a punt. We’re talking the best long weekend, officially experiencing Elevator Captain, the international break finally f*****g off, Australia heading to South Africa for the first time since Sandpaper Gate and the Rugby League World Cup being upon us. Then we get into the serious business — Messi calling time on international football, Ronaldo’s latest Portugal drama, Everest spots taking shape, MyRaceHorse trying to flog shares off Ninja’s trial win, Ka Ying Rising’s trial, Ceolwulf chasing a King Charles hat-trick and reopening some old punting scars before running through the horses to follow. And then, naturally, everything completely falls apart. Double barrel shotgunning the worst drink known to mankind, Ron Ron Juice making its comeback, cleaning your house, car and even your f*****g teeth before someone professionally cleans them, two drive-through lanes with one cashier, rocking up to a public pool in a snorkel and flippers, waiting 20 minutes to save $5 and cafes somehow charging for “complimentary” cookies. We also investigate Uber Eats drivers completing three other deliveries before reaching your house, testing out a headband through shadow boxing in Rebel, people wearing full golf and tennis outfits just to spectate, Daniil Medvedev launching one into a spectator, parents developing selective hearing and why putting my actual weight on a missing persons poster is absolutely unacceptable. Somewhere along the way we break the Football Best Bets Rule before eventually remembering we’re a sports podcast and finishing with an EPL Matchday 6 preview and multi. CSP. No structure. No standards. Just vibes, sport and some seriously questionable decisions. Make sure to stay up to date on our socials @coastalsportspod (0:00) What Is A Buzzball

    231. Elevator Captain

In this episode, We’re back!! After disappearing off the face of the earth for a while, CSP has returned with no explanation, no structure and somehow 50 minutes worth of absolute nonsense to get through. We kick things off with where the hell we’ve been, before immediately questioning whether FC 27 is actually an upgrade or whether EA have just changed the number on the box and expected us to hand over another $100. From there we run through everything happening in the sporting world, including the Nations League, which nobody really gives a f**k about, Australia somehow holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw and the Newcastle Knights producing one of the most unbelievable wins you’ll see over Penrith. Nathan Cleary’s injury gets dissected, the hip drop debate continues and then we get into the Group 1 Punt Off. Warwoven wins the Golden Rose, Fremantle absolutely shit the bed in the Wharfie, Everest slots are still available and everyone is scrambling to work out who gets the remaining spots. Then, after apparently finding his way back from whatever Belmont-shaped cave he was hiding in, The Goatmen returns with five winners. From there the episode completely falls off the rails. Is Grand Final pre-game entertainment actually worth the hype? Haaland has scored against every Premier League team he’s faced, and somehow this leads us into the completely unrelated topic of waking up blind drunk, smashing your shin into the coffee table and then having to negotiate your way to the kitchen like you’re escaping a war zone. We question why grown men are still doing choreographed entrance dances at their mates’ weddings, why influencers are spending their lives recreating recipes that already exist, and whether it’s socially acceptable to support two teams in the same sport without being labelled a complete fraud. We then move onto players getting booked for celebrations, the unwritten law of how close you need to be to an elevator before someone is obligated to hold the f*****g thing, people absolutely abusing the horn for no reason, and the ongoing battle of trying to get an Uber Eats delivery to a house with no number, no lights and apparently no intention of being found. And finally, because this is supposedly a sports podcast, we remember there’s an NRL Grand Final happening and get stuck into the preview, the match-up, the tips and whatever we can come up with before kick-off. CSP is back. An hour of sport, punts, arguments, questionable logic and conversations that absolutely did not need to happen. 230. Main Character Syndrome

In this episode, The boys are back, and somehow we’ve managed to cover the entire football world, horse racing, passports, Volleys, influencers, cooking frauds, family-tree disasters and a $23 EPL multi that ACTUALLY F*****G WON to kick things off!! We recap the weekend, investigate Hull City’s ridiculous start, discuss the transfer window finally closing, wonder what the hell has happened to Alexander Isak, celebrate the Socceroos absolutely cooking it in Europe and give Beiwacht his flowers after taking out the Memsie Stakes Then things take a sharp turn into the real important issues… Will Goat ever return? What is the most horrific way to lose a bet? Why do airlines care so much about six months on your passport? Who the hell is still wearing Volleys? And why does every influencer recipe that claims to take 10 minutes actually require 47 ingredients, three pans and half your f*****g day? We also try to process the state of the world after hearing about a step-son dating his step-mum, watch influencers film themselves in public like they’re starring in a Marvel movie, and obviously reveal our highly sophisticated football betting system… Lol. We’re lying. Then it’s time for the Match-Day 3 EPL preview, another questionable multi, a completely unnecessary investigation into how long Haaland will actually stay at Man City, and finally we attempt to sign off before someone says something that gets us cancelled. Football. Punting. Absolute nonsense. And apparently we can actually win a multi. What more could you possibly want? 229. Puffer Vest

In this episode, We kick things off with the weekend recap before immediately launching into the most important issue facing society: are sleeveless vests actually that cooked? From there, City Rail decides to ruin everyone’s day again, we reveal what’s coming on the pod, and investigate the bizarre phenomenon of strangers buying you drinks for absolutely no reason. Then we descend into complete societal chaos — media camping outside Christmas parties, journalists losing their minds over athletes liking Instagram posts, the unstoppable rise of sunglasses straps, and the ongoing war against anyone still wearing ripped or skinny jeans in 2026. We also tackle dogs in cafés, people carrying their phones around on key lanyards like they’re heading into Year 8 camp, and possibly the most cooked wedding tradition of all time: your dog walking you down the aisle. Then things get sporting. We decide which athlete would run the greatest nightclub, name our EPL Team of the Season, discuss whether Ka Ying Rising could see off Autumn Glow, preview EPL Matchday 2, investigate Aston Villa’s financial problems, and somehow finish with an EPL Matchday 2 multi because apparently financial responsibility was never on the agenda. An absolutely cooked episode covering football, racing, questionable fashion choices, public transport trauma, dogs, Instagram nonsense and whatever the f**k else happens along the way. 228. Leftovers

In this episode, The boys are back, the Group 1 Punt Off is back, the NRL is cooking, the Premier League is finally back, and somehow we’ve already managed to go completely off the rails. We kick things off with NRL signings, the Perth Bears, PNG and what’s been happening before getting stuck into the return of the Group 1 Punt Off and the GOAT being back this weekend. Then it’s straight into Premier League chaos. Who’s getting relegated? Who makes the Top 6? Can Bournemouth sneak into the Top 6? Are Brentford about to shock everyone? Is Liverpool heading into a rebuilding season? Where do we actually place Chelsea? Will Manchester United improve on last season? Is this the start of a new era at Manchester City? And most importantly, is it Arsenal’s title to lose? Then, because apparently football wasn’t enough, we get into the real issues facing society. People with personalised number plates, using Google Maps for a one-minute drive, whether Fulham are in danger of relegation, why Ferran Torres went to PSG, and people who film themselves crying on social media. We also debate whether we should start making pokies videos, the absolute nightmare of having to stand for an entire train ride home while hungover, back-seat pokie players who think they’re professional gamblers, and the ultimate betrayal — someone eating your leftovers after you’ve been thinking about them all day. Sport, betting, football, NRL, questionable opinions, pokies, hungover train rides and grievances nobody asked us to air publicly. Basically, two blokes with microphones and absolutely zero adult supervision. 227. Traffic Controller

In this episode, The podcast is officially back in full cooked mode after the World Cup break, and this week’s episode is basically a travelling circus that’s lost all supervision. We’re straight back in the trenches of absolute nonsense, kicking things off with the original Jack3d formula and the OxyShred ingredient saga — aka the era where everyone was basically speedrunning mystery chemicals and pretending it was “just pre-workout”. We run through what’s on this weekend, celebrate our long-overdue pokie redemption arc (despite clearly not learning a single lesson), drop the August podcast schedule, argue about the best season of the year to go out and completely ruin your life, and unpack the universal menace in every group chat — the bloke who orders the one drink that makes the bartender visibly question reality. We also dive into whether zero alcohol beer deserves to exist on planet Earth, the new Zyzz documentary and its impact on gym culture delusion, Matt King becomes Blues coach, Danny Weidler the man that no one can escape, and the burning question absolutely nobody asked but somehow needs answered… do you have to be attractive to be a female traffic controller or is confidence enough? The racing boys are back in full chaos mode too, breaking down the latest horse jump-outs and the Everest picture, where the horses are still “considering their options” like it’s a group project nobody wants to start. Then we wrap with a full-blown La Liga 2026/27 season preview — relegation predictions, top six chaos, top four locks (apparently), who lifts the trophy, and who bags the Golden Boot. We also go through the biggest transfers, departures, clubs on the rise, clubs in freefall, and the young guns who are one good highlight reel away from being called “the next big thing”. Another episode absolutely dripping in questionable takes, delusional confidence, sporting brain rot, and conversations that make you wonder how any of this got recorded, let alone published. 226. 2026 World Cup Final Review

In this episode, The World Cup is officially done and we’ve got absolutely everything to unpack after Spain’s historic triumph. We kick things off by talking through how we celebrated Spain lifting the trophy before diving into whether the World Cup halftime show actually worked and if the tournament was a success in the USA. We don’t hold back on Argentina’s fanbase, England’s ridiculous 6-4 third-place win over France, Spain’s relentless pressing masterclass, Argentina failing to register a single shot on target in 120 minutes, and the dirty tactics that crept into the final. We break down Rodri’s unbelievable tournament, just how far Luis de la Fuente can take this Spanish side, Spain’s toughest test on the road to glory, and whether Rodri truly deserved the Golden Ball. We somehow end up debating whether Ferran Torres was the best-looking bloke at the World Cup, why Keyne Yamal was the funniest part of the tournament, how Spain completely neutralised Messi, and the Argentine captain’s controversial antics after the final whistle. We also look ahead at what’s next for Argentina once Messi eventually calls it a day, give credit to an outstanding refereeing performance, discuss what we’re punting on now that the World Cup has wrapped up, and ask whether Lamine Yamal is now the face of world football. Then the big debates begin… was Spain’s knockout run the toughest ever, did Rodri produce the greatest World Cup by a midfielder in history, and was Argentina’s display in the final the worst we’ve ever seen? We dive into the rumours surrounding Argentina’s dressing room before kick-off, whether third-place playoff goals should count towards the Golden Boot, Unai Simón’s surprisingly stress-free final, who wins the Ballon d’Or from here, Trump’s attempt to celebrate with the Spanish team, and finally sign off on an unforgettable World Cup 2026. Expect hot takes, plenty of laughs, complete football chaos, and enough unhinged opinions to keep everyone arguing until the next World Cup rolls around.
