    Ep. 3 - Food is Medicine ft. Chef Shania of Conjure Tea

    This week we were joined by our very first guest, Chef Shania Thomas-Floyd, pastry chef, founder of Conjure Tea, and the VERY FIRST teen chopped champion! She came with the libations, mixing us up a delicious Old Fashioned using her "Cherry Cordial" Yomi Tea blend (her joint line of Aphrodisiac Teas with Glamazon Tyomi). We also enjoyed some sparkling white Prosecco & sweet red Roscato which perfectly accompanied our light menu of Oysters Rockefeller, an Herb Salad w/ Goat Cheese, Toasted Almonds, & a Mixed Berry Ginger Vinaigrette, & Jerk Salmon fillets served on a bed of Sweet Corn Succotash. Our discussion centered around the medicinal benefits of a proper diet, the many ways in which tea can be used for healing, the importance of incorporating fresh ingredients and herbs into your repetoire, how aphrodisiac foods can enhance your sexual health, and much more! Next week, Chef Gio will be joined by another lovely guest as Chef Tee will be out of town on work duties.     This week, Chef RoyalTee & Chef Gio got to the heart and soul of Decanted Discussions as they chat about cooking under the influence. They share some funny stories about their experiences with weed & alcohol as it pertains to their culinary endeavors as well as the dangers of substance abuse in the hospitality industry. We find out that Chef Gio doesn't know how to play "Never Have I Ever" and learn about the culinary epiphany Chef RoyalTee had while falling victim to the munchies. Lastly, we close out with some information on The Finest Dining's next ticketed event "Puff & Pastels," an infused culinary and visual arts experience! On the table, we served a burger spread featuring a Balsamic Caramelized Onion, Mushroom, & Swiss Turkey Burger, a Black Bean Avocado Burger, a Garlic & Herb Shrimp Burger w/ Cajun Mayo, a Greek Style Salmon Burger w/ Tzatziki Sauce, & a Classic Double Cheese Burger.     In our pilot episode of Decanted Discussions, we introduce our hosts Chef RoyalTee & Chef Gio and dive right into some great conversation. On the table, we served up a deluxe Surf & Turf spread featuring a Tomahawk Steak from Nick's Meat Depot, Lump Crab Stuffed Lobster, Pan Seared Fingerling Potatoes, & a fresh Herb Salad w/ Lemon Goat Cheese & Blood Orange Vin. paired with Jam Jar Sweet White & Sweet Red Wines. We talk about our start in the industry, what brought us together as chef partners, and how the hospitality industry has been affected by the global pandemic. Our live audience chimed into the conversation, somehow swayed the conversation to ass eating on the half shell & had Chef Gio contemplating an Only Fans venture of his own.
