Then Allison expands our minds to consider how a pulp science fiction writer turned into the founder of a new religious movement. This story is stranger than it seems. Ps.     Ep. 67: JMS and The Princess Bride

    Teamsters, welcome to another semi-regular cult episode! While we forego intersections between our topics, there are plenty of intersections between this episode and previous ones. For example, Allie takes us back to Asia as she covers another “religious movement,” this one out of South Korea. If you ask the people of Tanganyika, they'd probably tell you that it was 1961. Which, ironically, was no laughing matter. Carey Ann takes on the topic of Mass Hysteria through the lens of a mission-run boarding school where giggling girls turned into an eerie epidemic. Allie's take on the worst year ever may have been objectively worse - for those who survived it. What could cause a global drop in temperatures, the sun to go "missing", crop failure, and famine?     Hey Teamsters! This week, join us as we talk through all of the once-upon-an-intersections; as we're on our way to where the air is sweet, we're on our way to Sesame Street. CA takes the most ADHD approach through the values displayed in television shows over the past 70 years and how TV as a whole, positively or negatively impacts our psyche. P.S. Have you seen Bluey? Run. Don't walk. Then, Allie covers fairy tales, their writers, and the origins of some of our favorites. As their surname aptly suggests, these stories are more "grim" than we know them to be today. We promise this wasn't planned. Spoiler: there is a happy ending.
