    Love Is Dead, Let's Talk about Prom!

    Love may be dead, but, if you're going to get your heart broken, you should at least look good while doing it! In this episode, Lauren and Sydney discuss prom attire from the 1890s to today, as well as giving their opinions on each decade's top trends. Lauren also gives tips as to how you can go to prom on a budget, and Sydney recounts her own prom experience for the rest of us to live vicariously through.  *Topics such as racism and homophobia are discussed briefly, as they pertain to the history of proms. Both hosts care deeply about these issues, and, while the focus of this podcast is fashion, they hope listeners will take the time to educate themselves on these aspects of recent history.

With the help of a very special and totally unexpected guest, Lauren and Sydney dish it all out by giving listeners a taste into their opinions on 70s staples, featuring iconic looks such as bellbottoms, platform shoes, and... chest hair?! They also delve into their inner psyche by discovering what it means to be a true hippie and, in Lauren's case, admitting that her strong dislike for tie-dye may in fact stem from her fear of failure.

Hopefully, your answer was "yes" to at least one of those questions because, today, Lauren and Sydney discuss two of the most revolutionary styles of fashion and music, the New Romantics and Glam Metal, all on 0 hours of sleep!  They talk about the fashion label Body Map, which was all about shock value (and not the kind you get in a 2009 Shane Dawson video). Add in a hint of conspiracy theory talk and a statement supporting Madonna, and everyone is happy! And there's more... Not only do these fabulous hosts answer all of your important questions regarding aesthetics that you've totally heard of, but they also leave you with equally as important questions to ponder for the rest of your mediocre existence!  1. Is Lauren's brain more of an Internet Explorer or a Mozilla Firefox?  AND 2. Would you rather have a toy that tells children to kill people OR a flowerpot with a hidden camera imbedded in it that the government can use to spy on you?  And, as Sydney always says, "Don't worry about what the neckbeards say!"

    ALTERNATE TITLE: LAUREN AND SYDNEY SUPPORT DUCKS In this episode, Lauren and Sydney continue their discussion on Victorian Era fashion, despite Lauren continuously derailing the conversation to gush about fashion trends that may or may not have caused serious health issues for those who wore them! With the occasional reference to classics such as A Clockwork Orange, Corpse Bride, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Lauren and Sydney delve into an era known for its dark colors and shed light...get it?... to the lesser known aspects of the early, middle, and late Victorian styles. And, as the Victorians say, "Get your dang vaccines!"

    Lauren and Sydney Set the Date

    In this episode, Lauren and Sydney discuss the evolution of wedding attire throughout the years, focusing mostly on the shift to white wedding dresses in the Victorian Era but also talking about wedding attire as seen on screen and the history of wedding rings, all while Lauren continuously pushes the fact that she WILL NOT be wearing a white dress and most definitely WILL be having Panda Express cater her wedding. If you like cut throat commentary, this episode is for you! From the blood diamond industry to the costume designers of "Twilight", no one is safe. At the same time, Lauren and Sydney both state their support for Queen Victoria because we have to love a queen who supports local businesses.  *Note: While Bella Swan's dress is nothing to sing praises over, both hosts will give credit where it's due, and the costume designers of "Twilight" definitely did the job of staying true to the character by making Bella's wedding dress just as plain as she is.

    Lauren Becomes One with Y2K Fashion by Chewing on Second-Hand Polly Pockets

    In this episode, Sydney relays her strong opinion on jeans without pockets, and Lauren tries to insert the word "plaza" into conversation whenever possible in their discussion on y2k fashion and the culture surrounding it. We have to keep it real though: the 2000s Internet Scare didn't break the internet any more than Bryce Hall's cheating prank with Loren Gray did.  STATEMENT: After reviewing this episode, we realized that we needed to clarify a statement made by one of the co-hosts. Lauren speaks quickly, something you would know if you have listened to previous episodes, and a comment regarding an email from a professor came out sounding much like a reference to butt sex with an extreme power imbalance. Please know that Lauren was not given anal by a professor, or by anyone... other than Sydney.
