    Episode 8: When the Wave Comes Crashing Down

This week, Pete and Marc discuss Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather Part I and II, as well as Apocalypse Now!, to show what happens when things go right and wrong with an Auteur director. We then compare that to Ridley Scott's Alien, and Ridley Scott himself, whom still seems to have a blank check in Hollywood. Marc then goes off on Michael Cimino and how he single handedly destroyed United Artists with Heaven's Gate. Finally, the guys talk about the godsends of the upcoming Blockbuster Era, Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas, and how corporate comes in to crack down on these hippie-dippie, drug-addled artists.  Make sure that little velcro strap on your boogie board is nice and tight. We discuss The Graduate, Easy Rider, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and the emergence of Method Acting and American Auteur directors.
