SOL Affirmations with Karega & Felicia
Karega and Felicia Bailey became Angel Parents to their daughter, Kamaiu SOL in 2019. Since then they have found a radical tenderness and gentleness afforded them concerning their grief, unlike anything they have seen or experienced in their work surrounding social justice and gun violence in our communities. SOL Affirmations serves as a healing space through various forms of grief with the reminder that grief is love, it is just love after a loss.

The profound vulnerability that exudes every episode is what has grounded me in my own grief journey in this season. While I have never personally experienced neonatal loss, experiencing a glimpse of that pain vicariously through Felicia, Karega & the community that loves them reminds me that loss is never experienced in isolation—grief is collective and it’s hella transformative when you witness your grief reflected in someone else’s testimony, even when your loss is different. I’m so grateful for y’all 🙏🏾
Amazing
