    UDAAN 2026 – 22nd Interact District Conference Celebrates Youth Leadership and Excellence

    Mumbai, October 9, 2026: UDAAN – the 22nd Interact District Conference, a flagship initiative of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Juhu (RCMJ), was held on Friday, October 9, at Deenanath Mangeshkar Auditorium, Vile Parle East. The conference brought together approximately 500 Interactors, 50 Rotaractors and 40 Rotarians for a vibrant celebration of youth leadership, creativity, talent and service. This year’s conference was organised under the leadership of RCMJ President Mukul Jain and Youth Director and UDAAN Convener Shubhra Mazumdar, with the enthusiastic support of 17 co-host Rotary clubs, comprising 10 Platinum and 7 Gold co-host clubs. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Guests of Honour, Captain Amandeep Kapur and eminent educationist Dr Priya Rajwade. Interactor Gaurangi Sharma of the Interact Club of JBCN Oshiwara, a trained Kathak exponent, invoked blessings through a graceful classical dance performance. The morning featured inspiring speaker sessions that encouraged young participants to dream boldly, develop resilience and pursue excellence. Captain Amandeep Kapur captivated the audience with his address, earning a spontaneous standing ovation from the Interactors. Rtn. Nilesh Samant of the Rotary Club of Bombay West motivated the students with valuable life lessons drawn from the journey of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. The conference also highlighted the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, with competitions aimed at raising awareness about substance abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle. The initiative culminated in a pledge by participants to remain free from addiction, followed by an award ceremony recognising contributors to the campaign. A major highlight was the UDAAN – Flight of Excellence Awards, which celebrated outstanding Interactors across the categories of Creative Excellence, Social Impact and Sports. The awards recognised young achievers based on their nominations and profiles. Geeta Chouhan, Captain of the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team, inspired the audience with her remarkable journey, reinforcing the values of perseverance, courage and determination. The UDAAN 2026 Regal Year Competitions provided a platform for young minds to showcase their creativity, communication skills and commitment to social change. Presentations highlighted impactful Interact Club projects, while the art competition attracted nearly 200 entries, evaluated by eminent artists. Live competitions featuring powerful pantomimes on social causes and high-energy folk dances added excitement and colour to the proceedings. The prize distribution ceremony celebrated the talent, dedication and achievements of the participating students, bringing the event to an energetic close. Over its 22-year journey, UDAAN has continued to provide a platform for young people to discover their potential, express their ideas and embrace leadership through service. UDAAN 2026 reaffirmed this commitment, making the conference a memorable celebration of youthful aspiration, creativity and excellence.

    Jashn-E-Mumbai: A Celebration of Culture, Fellowship & Global Connections.

    Jashn-E-Mumbai’s Cultural Night, followed by the DG-DRR Dinner, brought together 600+ attendees, including over 40 Rotaractors from 13 domestic districts and 4 international districts: Nepal, Tanzania, Kenya, and Mexico, reflecting strong regional and international participation. The event was supported by Rotary Club of Bombay And Rotary Club of Mumbai Juhu The evening commenced with Regal District Governor Rtn. Rajan Dua’s keynote address, providing leadership and direction to the gathering. The celebration then featured an energetic Bollywood jamming session by Divyaansh Raaj and his band, Jams and Vibes, followed by the Maha Aarti, which added a spiritual and traditional element to the evening. Team JOSH from RCSIES then delivered a vibrant cultural performance showcasing artistic talent. The event was supported by Inkzoid, Mad Over Donuts, and Ink Wizard as sponsors, with TCET Capture serving as the Photography Partner. The evening successfully combined leadership, spirituality, entertainment, and cultural expression, creating opportunities for attendees from different districts and countries to connect and network. The celebration concluded with the DG-DRR Dinner, providing a setting for fellowship and meaningful interactions among district leaders and delegates.

    ‘Aviram: The Unstoppable’ from Navsari Screened at Global Diamond Iconic Award Show 2026 by Bhavya Foundation in Jaipur. Team-led short film highlights resilience, representing the city at national platform The short film Aviram: The Unstoppable was screened at the Global Diamond Iconic Award Show 2026 held in Jaipur on April 5. The event, organized by Bhavya Foundation, witnessed the presence of around 250–270 attendees, including the Mayor of Jaipur, social activists, and various dignitaries from different fields. Alongside the screening, writer-director Vrunda Baraiya was also recognized among 200 awardees across India for her contribution in the field of literature. Voices from the Journey Sharing her thoughts, writer-director Vrunda Baraiya said: "I feel extremely glad to have received such an opportunity. I am especially thankful to Nisha Mathur ma’am for making this possible, and deeply grateful to Bhavya Foundation for creating such a meaningful platform. It feels surreal to see people appreciating our work. This means a lot to me. It was my mother's wish that I write a film and see it being screened somewhere. Fulfilling that feels special, but it also keeps me grounded and focused on improving further." She added : "We know the film is not perfect, and there is still a lot to learn. But this is just the beginning. And as the title suggests, Aviram : there will be 'No Viram' in our hard work and dedication." Cast and Team: Hetvi Naik : The Protagonist A postgraduate student in Chemistry, Hetvi Naik began her artistic journey through mono-acting performances, including notable acts like Dhumado. Aviram: The Unstoppable marks her first lead role in a short film, serving as a significant milestone in her creative journey. With a strong inclination towards performance, she is keen on exploring diverse roles and continuously challenging her abilities as an actor. Yash Soni : The Key Supporting role A BBA graduate, Yash Soni brings a natural interest in drama and performance to the screen. While academically inclined, he believes in exploring creative fields alongside formal education. His involvement in Aviram reflects his growing passion for acting and his willingness to step into new artistic spaces. Srushti Maisuria : A Reflective Character Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Srushti Maisuria holds a deep interest in acting and performance. She enjoys expressing emotions through her roles and connecting with audiences in a meaningful way. Her participation in Aviram highlights her enthusiasm for storytelling and her commitment to developing her craft. Yashvi Parmar A Bachelor of Commerce student, Yashvi Parmar has been actively involved in theatre for the past two years. She has worked with groups like Jaighosh Theatre and Paradox Theatre in Navsari. With experience in both stage performances and advertisements, she continues to grow as a dedicated performing artist. Nimisha Parikh Hailing from Navsari, Nimisha Parikh is a multi-faceted professional, mechanical and textile engineer, certified motivational speaker, and founder of Kalamanch Drama Group and Inspira Institute. Alongside her professional achievements, she passionately pursues acting and storytelling striving to inspire others while building her presence in the creative field. The film is backed by Nimbumirchi Production, with founder Aditya Kumar serving as the Director of Photography (DOP) and co-founder Dhyey Trivedi contributing as Assistant Director and Vikash Tiwari as Editor. The city then turned into an open-air museum. During our Judgement Parikrama, where every pandal stood as a gallery, every idol a masterpiece, every theme a story told in colors and lights. The Matri Samman Awards recognized and celebrated those puja committees and artisans who poured their imagination into tradition, keeping alive the grandeur of Bengal’s biggest festival.
