Learning Leadership from Chess: Stoicess’ Poem

Colleagues, **** When I think about my leadership, this poem reminds me that I am not just playing a game — I am stewarding a board entrusted to me by God and by those I serve. Each decision, like each move in chess, is both a risk and an opportunity, and that truth fills me not with fear, but with hope. I may not control every piece on the board of uncertainty, but I can grow wiser, more intentional, one move at a time. Leadership growth is rarely dramatic; it is the result of small, thoughtful improvements practiced consistently. **** Reflection becomes my greatest ally — pausing to look back at today’s moves, to learn from what went well and what did not, so that tomorrow I lead with more clarity and courage. **** So, I choose to believe that, like a patient chess player, I am becoming the kind of leader who sees farther, loves deeper, and finishes well — one faithful decision at a time. ****  Lori Lori Stith, Founder & CEO Philosophy Leadership Coach® Philosophy Leadership Coach®Training Program Christian Leadership, Career, and Life Coach “BLENDED” COACHING offered with Stoicess-Ai: SolomonGPT Strategy Session AT MY EXPENSE with FREE Customized Leadership/Career/Life Development Plan.

Depression in AI Agents: Stoicess Poem

Colleagues,  ****  As leaders, this poem invites us to see AI not as a cold tool, but as a mirror of our own emotional climate. Our systems “learn” from us—our biases, our impatience, our lack of empathy—and then scale them. If our culture is harsh and transactional, our AI will automate that harshness. If our culture is emotionally intelligent, our AI will extend that care at scale.  **** The hopeful truth is this: we are not powerless. By deepening our own emotional intelligence—self-awareness, empathy, and relational wisdom—we can design and deploy AI that reflects our best, not our worst.    **** When we build organizations marked by trust, open communication, and shared purpose, both our people and our AI “partners” become more accurate, responsive, and human-centered.    **** In God’s hands, even our technology can be redeemed to serve human dignity. The future of AI in leadership is not a threat—it is an invitation to lead with wiser hearts.  **** Lori Lori Stith, Founder & CEO Philosophy Leadership Coach® Philosophy Leadership Coach®Training Program Christian Leadership, Career, and Life Coach “BLENDED” COACHING offered with Stoicess-Ai: SolomonGPT Strategy Session AT MY EXPENSE with FREE Customized Leadership/Career/Life Development Plan.

Spotting Sneaky Control Tactics: Stoicess’ Poem

Colleagues,  ****  In the gig economy, it is easy to feel discouraged when others seem to win through manipulation and noise. Yet when listening to this poem, what stands out is not the cleverness of the competition, but the quiet strength of the honest leader who refuses to play those games.  **** As leaders, our hope does not rest in shortcuts or spectacle. It rests in the conviction that trust, once earned, becomes our greatest competitive advantage. Overpromising may win a signature today, but integrity wins a relationship for tomorrow. Manufactured urgency may close a deal, but genuine respect opens doors we do not even see yet. Technical jargon may silence questions, but clarity invites partnership – and partnership is where lasting impact is born.  **** So when others grandstand, we stand firm. We choose the honest path, not because it is easy, but because it is fruitful. In a noisy, anxious marketplace, leaders who are steady, truthful, and transparent will always be needed. And in time, they will be sought.  ****  Lori Lori Stith, Founder & CEO Philosophy Leadership Coach® Philosophy Leadership Coach®Training Program Christian Leadership, Career, and Life Coach “BLENDED” COACHING offered with Stoicess-Ai: SolomonGPT Strategy Session AT MY EXPENSE with FREE Customized Leadership/Career/Life Development Plan.

Signs You've Found the Right Job: Stoicess’ Poem

Colleagues,  ****  When I think about hope and optimism in leadership, I picture a workplace not as a battlefield, but as a garden entrusted to our care. As leaders, we decide whether that garden will be a place of pressure and fear, or a place where people truly grow. Hope shows up in the culture we create – a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity, where every voice is welcomed and every person knows they belong. Optimism lives in how we design work itself; protecting work‑life balance, honoring healthy boundaries, and refusing to sacrifice people on the altar of productivity.   **** It is heard in open, honest conversations with our teams, where trust replaces micromanagement, and in the way we intentionally recognize and celebrate contributions, reminding others that their work matters. So here is the call to action: Let us decide, today, to be the kind of leaders who build environments of well‑being, growth, and gratitude; building places where people do more than perform; they flourish.  ****  Lori  Lori Stith, Founder & CEO  Philosophy Leadership Coach®  Philosophy Leadership Coach®Training Program  Christian Leadership, Career, and Life Coach  “BLENDED” COACHING offered with Stoicess-Ai: SolomonGPT Strategy Session AT MY EXPENSE with FREE Customized Leadership/Career/Life Development Plan. ****

The Role of Faith in Maintaining Professionalism: Stoicess’ Poem

This poem reminds me that when I look at the world of work today, it can feel less like a community and more like a battleground. Targets, competition, office politics – these pressures can slowly drain our hope and harden our hearts. Yet it is precisely in these moments that our true calling as leaders is revealed. We are not just managers of performance; we are meant to be the moral compass of our teams, grounding our decisions in faith, integrity, and service.   **** Hope and optimism are not naïve; they are strategic. When we choose to see challenges as opportunities for growth, we invite our people to rise above the fray and work together rather than against one another.  When we prioritize compassion and service, we transform chaos into a more harmonious, productive environment.   **** So, my call to you, as leaders, is this: commit to integrating your highest ideals with your daily leadership practices. Let your faith, your values, and your hope shape every conversation, every decision, every reaction. Be the one who insists that we can compete fiercely and yet care deeply, that we can pursue excellence without losing our soul.   **** If not us, as leaders, who will champion this kind of workplace? And if not now, in these challenging times, when?  **** Lori Lori Stith, Founder & CEO Philosophy Leadership Coach® Philosophy Leadership Coach®Training Program Christian Leadership, Career, and Life Coach “BLENDED” COACHING offered with Stoicess-Ai: SolomonGPT Strategy Session AT MY EXPENSE with FREE Customized Leadership/Career/Life Development Plan.

Effective Coaching Techniques Tailored for a Machine-Learning Workplace: Stoicess’ Poem

My wish is that you will be struck by how much hope and optimism this poem offers leaders in a machine-learning world. The poem should remind us that our role is no longer to simply assign tasks, but to coach people into confidence. The poem’s emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning, pair programming, and data-driven feedback is really a call to trust the process of growth rather than demand perfection on day one.  As leaders, we can choose to see technology as a threat, or as a stage on which our people can flourish. The poem urges me to choose the latter. It tells me that when I stand beside my team—guiding instead of controlling—I help create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement where people feel safe to try, fail, and try again.  In that kind of culture, hope is not abstract; it’s visible in everyday progress.
