    Episode #154 - What's Your One Thing?

In this episode we talk a lot about something that affects a lot of people...making real commitments instead of just talking about change. With a few months left in the year, it's easy to let panic set in about unmet goals. But what if we flipped that into possibility? The conversation centered on a challenge many face.  Alcohol consumption. It's socially normalized, deeply embedded in various cultures, and often used as a coping mechanism for stress and anxiety. The research is clear. It negatively impacts brain health, physical wellbeing, and mental clarity. Yet it remains a difficult habit to address. During our discussion, the tendency to negotiate against ourselves became apparent. Saying "I'll just have one glass at special occasions" often becomes the slippery slope that prevents real change. It's thinking that's neither fully committed nor effective, and it rarely produces results. The key insight is this.  When you commit to one aligned action, several other positive habits naturally fall into place. Better hydration, improved sleep, increased productivity, and mental clarity all follow from a single decision. Implementation requires specific strategies. First, anchor the commitment to something tangible, like informing your social circle to create accountability. Second, track your progress visually with every week laid out Third, share it publicly to strengthen resolve. Finally, reframe the reward. Recognize that social enjoyment comes from connection with people, not from substances. The broader principle applies to any area of life asking for attention. Whether it's early morning routines, fitness goals, or habit changes, consistency over 12 weeks can completely shift your trajectory. The challenge is straightforward. Identify one commitment, write it down, and start immediately. Small, consistent moves create massive momentum. The question isn't whether change is possible. It's whether you're willing to consent to it and follow through. Thanks you for listening! K&J www.fitzlife.ca

Episode #153 - Activation: The Power of Devoted Discipline

Get comfortable and find a quiet spot for this one. In this solo episode, Kim explores the powerful concept of devoted discipline and what it means to embody your future self right now, in the midst of life's chaos and challenges. Rather than waiting for perfect conditions or easier circumstances, this episode invites listeners to step into their next level identity today. The central message revolves around Kim's mantra "be her now" and becoming the person you need to be not someday, but in this present moment, amidst the noise and imperfection of everyday life. Kim guides listeners through a reflective meditation, asking them to visualize their future self in a mirror and observe her posture, calm, and quiet power. This version isn't waiting for things to settle, she's leading herself through uncertainty right now. The episode reframes discipline as an act of reverence rather than punishment and  a sacred commitment to your standards and self trust. Every micro decision and small promise kept strengthens your nervous system and teaches it who you're becoming. Kim encourages listeners to identify one small, daily standard they can hold with devotion for seven days, whether it's morning movement, journaling, or self compassion. Throughout the episode, listeners are reminded that devotion isn't built in ease but through the act of returning to yourself repeatedly. The message is clear. You're not behind, you're becoming. Your next level isn't found in perfection or control, but in presence, consistency, and devoted discipline, one choice at a time. Thank you as always for listening. Kim www.fitzlife.ca

Episode #152 - Small Moves, Big Life: The Power of Consistency with Andrea Rogers

In this powerful and uplifting episode of Fitzlife Unfiltered, Kim sits down with her friend, wellness entrepreneur, and newly published author Andrea Rogers, to discuss her new book “Small Moves Big Life: Seven Daily Practices to Supercharge Your Energy, Productivity, and Happiness.” The conversation is a heartfelt mix of inspiration, vulnerability, and tangible strategies for living a more intentional, energized life. Kim opens the episode by celebrating Andrea’s magnetic energy, describing how her presence lights up any room. Despite her petite frame, Andrea’s confidence and spirit “move mountains.” Together, they reflect on Andrea’s journey from dancer and choreographer to wellness leader, global fitness trainer, and now author. Andrea shares how her early passion for movement evolved into a career devoted to helping women reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their power through small, consistent daily practices. A central theme of the episode is the transformative power of movement and breath. Andrea explains that the simplest tool is intentional breathing and even ten minutes of movement a day can radically shift your energy and mindset. “Move your body, move your life,” she says, emphasizing that small, consistent actions are far more powerful than grand but unsustainable bursts of effort.  She walks listeners through the science behind breathwork and mindfulness, showing how these tools calm the nervous system, restore focus, and create a foundation of self-worth. Kim and Andrea also discuss the myth of constant motivation and the truth that consistency is often boring, yet it’s in that boredom and repetition where mastery, growth, and self-trust are built. They explore how habits formed with intention become automatic anchors that support balance and presence throughout life’s chaos. Andrea reminds listeners that maintenance seasons are part of thriving and that sometimes “staying steady is the win.” The episode closes with reflections on authenticity, female leadership, and legacy. Andrea’s upcoming book tour and events (including New York City, Austin, and Dallas) are shared, along with Kim’s heartfelt pride in her friend’s discipline and heart. Together they embody the spirit of women uplifting women and celebrating courage, consistency, and the daily commitment to becoming who we’re meant to be. This episode is both grounding and energizing and a reminder that small, intentional actions, repeated with love, can change your entire life. Thank you so much for listening! Episode #151 — A Year Later: Redirection, Reinvention, and What We’ve Learned

We’re back in the studio today, and honestly, it feels really good. A year ago, Kim and I were standing at a major crossroads. After ten years of building a business we loved, it came to an end, and while that day could’ve felt devastating, it actually became one of the greatest redirections of our lives. Looking back now, I see how that ending made space for everything that followed. We handled it differently, and that’s okay. I was ready to pivot and move quickly. I’ve been through business losses before, and I’ve learned not to attach my identity to any one title or company. Kim, on the other hand, needed time to process, breathe, and figure out what came next. Watching her rebuild, find her footing again, and create something so meaningful has been inspiring. In this episode, we talk about what that journey has really looked like, the messy middle, the fear, and the freedom that comes from starting over. Kim shares how she co-founded the Lumina Institute, a new coaching school built on accreditation, integrity, and heart. I’ve seen the work behind it, the late nights, the courage, and the faith , and I couldn’t be prouder of her. This past year has also brought a lot of personal change. We welcomed Kim’s mom into our home, added our new pup Clive to the family, and learned how to lead ourselves through a very full season. If there’s one takeaway, it’s this: change doesn’t mean chaos. Sometimes what looks like an ending is really just life clearing space for something even better. Thanks you all for listening! Episode #150 - Loud, Visible, and Unapologetic! An interview with Renee Warren!

I'm so excited for you to hear this conversation between Kim and the amazing Renee Warren!  She is a Canadian entrepreneur, business coach, speaker, and podcast host.   Renee helps purpose driven female entrepreneurs build more visible, confident, and bold businesses through strategy, coaching, community, and accountability.   She is the founder of The Pink Skirt Project, a summit & community geared toward women making big moves in business.  Renee also hosts a podcast called “Into the Wild" with Renée Warren, which covers topics such as mindset, visibility, entrepreneurship, and balancing business and life.   I loved listening to this podcast as she really dives into to having an abundant mindset, doing undesirable things, and women not play small, and that they can show up more visibly, lead with their full selves, and make the kind of impact they want without hiding behind fear.   What is rich girl energy? Stay tuned to find all about it and what it's so important in how Renee operates. Of course these two industry leaders in mindset dive into that topic, as well as parenting (Renee has two boys), and also how being yourself in front of your kids teaches them to be you and comfortable in their own skin.  Her humour comes through in her podcast and on Social Media and it's an interesting conversation around that ability to be light and "goofy" and even bring that into business as people trust who they know and like and what's relatable. It's an incredible listen,  and Renee and Kim really offer amazing value. Enjoy! Episode #149 - Stop Hiding, Start Building

I’m coming at you straight from my office, face to face, and I want to give you the most electric, real conversation as we step into the final stretch of this year. We’ve got three and a half months left, and the truth is, this is when breakthroughs are born. The last 90 days can completely change your story if you’re willing to go all in on one or two things that truly move the needle in your life. The real question is: are you editing your life with intention, or are you letting other people’s chaos run your schedule, your energy, your choices? Successful people ruthlessly edit. They say no to what drags them backward and yes to what aligns with their future self. Where are you leaking energy? Who or what is keeping you stuck in an old version of you? I share a story from when I was younger about learning how to balance a checkbook, late to the game, yes, but it gave me a lesson I carry to this day: when you discover where your debits and credits really are, you take back control. Same goes for your energy now. Audit it. Claim it. Decide if what you’re doing is fueling your vision or draining it. This episode is a call to get uncomfortable, to walk into the arena and be visible again. Stop hiding. Stop waiting. Choose to insert yourself back into your own life. Because quitting happens when curiosity dies, and if you’re not learning about yourself, you’re not growing. These last three months aren’t about being busy, they’re about being intentional, doubling down on what matters, and showing yourself you’re capable of more. So the challenge is simple: What do you need right now? What are you grateful for? And what are you willing to double down on for the rest of this year to build the life and the self you’ve been saying you want? www.fitzlife.ca

Episode #148 - Your Breakthrough Isn't Waiting for January

This week’s episode is something really special. Kim went solo and shared a powerful conversation about the last four months of the year and what they truly mean for us. She reminded us that we don’t need to wait for January or for a new year to give ourselves permission to start again. We don’t need the calendar to roll over to create change, what we actually need is a new now. Kim talks about how this season, the final stretch of the year, is where breakthroughs are born. It’s not just about finishing strong; it’s about alignment. It’s about asking ourselves, who am I choosing to be right now? What patterns or habits have carried over from the first nine months that don’t serve us anymore? And how do we interrupt them with new choices that reflect the person we’re becoming? She also opens up about her own choices when it comes to her health and shifting to gluten-free, dairy-free, and alcohol-free...not as a restriction, but as freedom. That simple reframe from “I can’t” to “I choose not to” puts her in the driver’s seat of her own activation. It’s a reminder for all of us that discipline is a declaration of who we are, not what we’re missing. This episode is about visualization, embodiment, and claiming breakthrough right now. Kim takes us through a powerful reflection exercise: imagining ourselves on December 31st, standing taller, lighter, more aligned, and already living as the person we said we’d become when the year began. Breakthrough doesn’t wait for later. Breakthrough is here, in this moment, if we’re willing to claim it. Thanks! Episode #147 - Show Me How Good it Can Get

This week Kim and I dive deep into the power of words, the importance of mindset, and the mid-year reset we are both committed to right now. We talk about how what you say matters and how writing it down can shape your reality. I shared how I printed three posters for my office with simple but powerful prompts: “Show me how good it can get,” “Show me how healthy I can get,” and “Show me how good I can feel.” These are daily reminders to shift from fear and worry into possibility and belief. We walk through the idea of doing a personal audit as we enter the last third of the year. This is not just about reflection but about raising the standard in every area of life. We use tools like the Life Wheel to measure where we are and where we want to go in health, finances, relationships, mindset, and daily habits. Awareness is important, but action is where change happens. We share personal examples of choosing discipline over comfort, the power of language in shaping identity, and protecting your energy from people and environments that drain you. We talk about the difference between living in your life and zooming out to lead your life with clarity and intention. One of the biggest takeaways is that standards do not drop overnight, they erode in small daily allowances. If your audit does not make you uncomfortable, you are not going deep enough. The next 120 days are not a warm-up. This is championship season. Small consistent actions can completely change who you are and how you feel by the end of the year. We challenge you to choose one area to go all in on for the next 90 days. Do the work now and set yourself up to finish this year stronger than you started. As always, thank you for your time!
