“The thing that got me out of bed is the gym, the thing that makes me come back to MYP is the members, the community, and what you have created for us.” A busy Mum, wife, health professional in the corporate space, massive cheerleader and a valued member at MYP - Sarah Commuskey. She is the one that will be cheering you for your sets, she’s the one that celebrates your birthday and have the crew all blow up balloons surprising the birthday member as they step through the door. It was an absolute pleasure to sit down with Sarah and have her share her story with us, her 15 years of dedication in the gym, from training six times a week to training three times a week at MYP and getting the results, more energy, time back, hitting PBs, and achieving some big goals already! With more on the horizon. A key highlight Sarah spoke about was the love and support she has from her husband Joel, her backbone, supporting her goals and with that she shares her advice to those who feel guilty for making the time to prioritise themselves. This was powerful! We’ve had the honour to see the bond between Sarah and her husband Joel and the beautiful family they have with their daughter, and it’s no wonder, because both parents model what health, happiness and showing up for yourself looks and truly mean. Sarah’s message was powerful: “Give yourself that time. You are deserving of that time.” “You have more time than you think you have. It’s how you’re using that time, zoom out, look at the things you’re doing that aren’t serving you, and take them away. You want to see people succeed here.” What is next for Sarah? Sarah is 6 weeks out to a half marathon in May, Hyrox in August, and a Marathon in October!
