Reading What I Want - The Relevance of Performing Arts

This is my multimodal piece for Assignment 3a of my English 250 class for my 2023 semester at Iowa State University. Theatre as an art form is very important to me, and because I would like to continue doing these live performances for the forseeable future, I believed it was appropriate to inform people as to why theatre is NOT a "dying artform." Reading What I Want - American Psycho Chapter 1

American Psycho has had a real resurgence in pop culture recently, with the movie and book's main character, Patrick Bateman, being the subject of many memes and other pop culture references. You may have seen the movie, I have too. So, I decided to give the book a read. I have heard that the book is even more gruesome than the movie, so I will be sure to give appropriate content warnings at the beginning of each episode.  DISCLAIMER: My reading of this book should in no way be a substitution for the published book or the movie. American Psycho is a cult-classic novel that still has some controversy regarding the content within it and should be experienced firsthand to truly enjoy it. American Psycho can be purchased at a few different retailers or obtained via e-books online as well. Source: Ellis, Bret Easton. American Psycho. 1991. Be sure to follow the podcast so you know when a new episode comes out! And thank you for listening to Reading What I Want.

Reading What I Want - Holiday Special (Twas The Night Before Christmas and The Polar Express)

In this special for the holidays, I felt like I wanted to read two classic Christmas stories to celebrate the season before I freeze my appendages off, enjoy. "Twas The Night Before Christmas," originally published in the Troy Sentinel on December 23rd, 1823, written by Clement Clarke Moore. The Polar Express, written by Chris Van Allsburg, published in 1985 by Houghton Mifflin. Have something you think I'd like to read? Reading What I Want - My English 150 Personal Narrative (No Intro or Outro)

For my English 150 Class, I was tasked with reusing one of our previous assignments to create a multimodal form representing said assignment. I choose to use my already-established podcast to do so. In this episode, I read and tack my own information and opinions onto my Assignment 1, Personal Narrative.
