Looking Into Things: A New Podcast for the Teenager

Heard about you guys from a friend and wanted to listen to your pride episode specifically. As a lgbtq person it’s very disheartening that only the same 4 point kept getting brought up. Guest did not address their “queer” experience and what that even means for them at all. Also what was the “I’m a little bit trans and want to be non-binary”? You either are trans or are not it’s not a “who’s the most trans” situation. “Wanting” to be non-binary is extremely hurtful to the trans community. It’s like saying it’s a choice and romanticizing it. Comments from the guest were so vague it all felt performative from her. Also all the random trauma dumping and horrible advice? She literally recommended to call a suicide hotline when she felt “down”. That takes up the operators time that could be used to save lives. It’s not normalized because it’s wrong. She also kept prompting going through it herself and glorify it, and then said the hot line helped her? Also the Q & A was interesting but it should have been centered around more queer lgbtq topics. Guest just felt very under qualified and repeated the same basic point that every one says. There were so many false facts she was claiming it’s very concerning. Would love to see you redo this episode with an experienced lgbtq person. It doesn’t have to be pride month because we should be proud all year long.
