Episode 225: Mirror, Mirror, What the Hell? — The Witchy Art of Reflection Scrying

Let's Chat!! What happens when you stare into a mirror long enough and ask it to spill your business? This week on C3: Crystals, Cauldrons, & Cocktails, River is diving into the strange, ancient, occasionally creepy world of reflection divination and scrying. We're traveling from an ancient Greek mirror oracle to John Dee's mysterious obsidian mirror, digging into old Halloween rituals for spotting your future spouse, exploring the folklore behind Bloody Mary, and discovering why humans have apparently spent thousands of years staring into shiny objects and demanding answers. We'll talk mirror scrying, water scrying, obsidian, intuition, the subconscious, spiritual interpretations, and what may actually be happening when faces and shapes seem to shift in low light. Plus, there's a possibly haunted thrift-store mirror, practical scrying techniques, divination for the low-spoon witch, the Scry & Dry cocktail, and several reminders that your mirror does NOT get to be the boss of you. Whether you believe you're receiving messages from Spirit, tapping into your intuition, giving your subconscious five uninterrupted minutes to finally get a word in, or some combination of the above, grab something reflective. We're staring into the shiny void. And hopefully nothing stares back. Mini Episode 25: The Sacred Butter Knife - Witchcraft on a Budget

Let's Chat!! You open a witchcraft book and apparently you're supposed to own an engraved athame, an elaborate chalice, a crystal wand, seventeen specialized bowls and an altar that looks like the magical section of Pottery Barn. Meanwhile, you're standing in the kitchen holding a butter knife and thinking, “Pointy enough.” Welcome to Cauldrons of Chaos. This week, River is talking about the reality of witchy tools: what we're supposedly meant to use versus what actually ends up becoming part of our practice. We're talking athame vs. butter knife, chalice vs. chipped coffee mug, crystal wand vs. random pen, and all those ordinary objects that somehow become deeply personal magical tools along the way. Because beautiful witchy tools are wonderful—but they aren't the admission price for witchcraft. We'll talk about intention, building relationships with your tools, the trap of waiting until you have the “right” supplies to begin, and why the weird little object you've been using for years may mean more to your practice than anything you could order online. Plus, your Chaos Assignment: officially promote one completely ordinary object to Sacred Witchy Tool status and give it an unnecessarily dramatic title. Grab your Sacred Spoon of Caffeinated Intentions. We've got magick to do. Support the show We'll be back! Until then, Stay Witchy!! Episode 224: The Green Man - Leaf Daddy Has Entered the Chat

Let's Chat!! This week on C3: Crystals, Cauldrons & Cocktails, River is heading into the weeds—literally—to investigate one of witchcraft's most recognizable and surprisingly complicated figures: the Green Man. You know him. The mysterious leafy face carved into medieval churches, lurking in garden centers, and staring back from enough witchy décor to make you wonder exactly when the forest got a spokesperson. But who—or what—is the Green Man? We're digging into the strange history behind those leafy faces, why they appear on medieval churches and cathedrals, how the Green Man became associated with nature, renewal and the turning seasons, and why modern witches have enthusiastically adopted him as everyone's favorite mysterious forest dude. Then we're getting practical with Green Man magick: renewal charms, simple everyday practices, working with growth and opportunity, connecting with the green world when you don't actually have a forest handy, and the part nobody puts on the cottagecore Pinterest board—decay, endings, boundaries and knowing when something needs to be composted. There will also be murdered houseplants, an opportunistic squirrel, questionable gardening decisions, something called a leaf burrito of witchcraft, and several deeply unnecessary Green Man nicknames. And because this is C3, we're mixing The Forest Face, a botanical cocktail for anyone who likes their nature spirituality served over ice. So grab your drink, find something green, and come meet the ancient-looking leafy bastard who's been photobombing history for centuries. 🌿 Growth. Renewal. Wildness. Decay. And maybe just a little Leaf Daddy energy. Episode 223: Lock & Key Magick - ADT, But Make It Haunted

Let's Chat!! Not everyone gets a key, witches. This week, we're digging into Lock & Key Magick—the witchcraft of protection, boundaries, access, opportunity, and knowing when you're standing in front of the wrong f*****g door. We're looking at the surprisingly weird history of keys, from Viking Age graves and divine gatekeepers to church keys used in folk healing and love magick. Then we're bringing it into modern witchcraft with protection keys, boundary charms, locking-away spells, goal magick, and a Path-Opening Key Spell for those moments when you desperately need something in your life to MOVE. Because sometimes you need to lock the Forces of F*****y outside. And sometimes? You need to stop aggressively jingling a key at a brick wall. Grab your Skeleton Key cocktail and join River for keys, chaos, questionable folklore, practical spellwork, and one very important reminder: Not everyone gets access to you. Episode 221: Episode 221 Kitchen Crimes & Cauldrons Is Food Really Magical?

Let's Chat!! Ever wondered who looked at a cinnamon stick and decided it could fix their finances? Same. This week we're investigating the surprisingly weird history of food magick. We're digging into garlic, salt, cinnamon, honey, apples, bread, and all the magical pantry staples that witches have been using for centuries. But are these correspondences actually ancient... or did somebody on the internet make them up with a really convincing font? Along the way we'll uncover fascinating history, real science, hilarious kitchen crimes, ridiculously practical spells, and enough witchy food facts to make you side-eye your spice cabinet forever. So grab a cocktail, smack that rosemary, and join me as we discover whether food is truly magical... or if humans have simply been assigning mystical powers to soup for the last 14,000 years. Because honestly... either answer is pretty delicious.
