Car Chronicles EP 26: Building A Self-Serve Farm Stand For Cookies

Send us Fan Mail My microphone broke right before recording, so we’re doing this one the scrappy way, on the road, with a real-life update that’s equal parts baking, fitness, and figuring it out as we go. The biggest shift is business: we walked away from a cookie arrangement that looked promising until the margins didn’t justify the work. That decision opened the door to a better path for a home bakery brand, one where we control quality, pricing, and time without a middleman.  The new plan is a porch bakery style farm stand, a self-serve bake stand set up at the house where neighbors can grab cookies and pay digitally or with cash. I’m building the stand myself using downloadable woodworking blueprints, and the goal is to grow into a small bakery that stays obsessed with consistent quality. We also talk about what it takes to fund the build the right way, including saving for tools, a mini fridge for cheesecake, and cutting out the little spending habits that quietly drain momentum.  On the personal side, my wife is away prepping for a bodybuilding show, so I’m running a mini cut to keep pace and show up proud at her event. We switched to a new gym with strength testing and a leaderboard, and that competitive environment has pushed my training intensity way up. Add in rough sleep from dog sitting and long workdays, and you get the full picture: progress isn’t perfect, it’s just persistent.  If you want the farm stand build, the baking journey, and the mindset behind it, hit subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a five-star review. What would you sell from a self-serve porch bakery if you built one? Car Chronicles EP 25: You Always Have A Choice In How You Respond Part 2

Send us Fan Mail You can tell who’s trying to level up because they bring their own food, drink water, train with intention, and stop waiting for someone to rescue them. That’s also why they get targeted. We dig into the ugly side of “jokes” and comments that are really just insecurity, and we get honest about why personal accountability feels so rare in the military and in everyday life. We also break down how standards fall apart when nobody enforces them. From PT tests to performance reviews, the buddy system can turn real requirements into a game of favors, and one person choosing to count reps honestly can threaten the whole setup. That tension leads straight into a bigger point: if you’re never held accountable, your “achievements” don’t mean what you think they mean, and the people below you pay the price. Then we get personal. Leonardo Akens shares what it felt like to deny the COVID vaccine, get marked and isolated, lose position, and watch his career spiral toward the end. The takeaway isn’t about winning an argument; it’s about mindset, resilience, and working through trauma without turning into someone who only complains. We close with a practical challenge: stop outsourcing your energy to caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol, and build a real decompression structure with food, water, sleep, and routines. If this hits home, subscribe, share it with someone who needs a reset, and leave a five star review. Car Chronicles EP 24: You Always Have A Choice In How You Respond Part 1

Send us Fan Mail Caffeine culture is everywhere, but the real question isn’t what you take to push through a long day. The real question is why you’re running on empty to begin with. We start with a simple TikTok comment and end up in a much deeper place: sleep deprivation, trauma, addiction, and the stories we tell ourselves when we don’t want to face our own agency. I get into why I don’t buy emotional arguments that dodge the core issue. Toxic leadership, brutal shifts, and painful experiences can be true at the same time as this truth: you still choose your response. We talk through the difference between empathy and enabling, why revenge doesn’t heal anything, and how self-reflection and emotional regulation can stop the spiral into caffeine dependence, nicotine, alcohol, or other coping behaviors. I also break down the nuance people miss about “addiction,” including where fitness can cross the line and what loss of control actually looks like. We close by grounding it back in health basics that matter: circadian rhythm (especially for night shift), cortisol patterns, sleep quality, anxiety, stress, and fixing root causes instead of stacking stimulants. If you want a practical mindset for getting your energy back and taking ownership of your life, hit play, then subscribe, share the show with someone who needs it, and leave a five-star review. Car Chronicles EP 23: If You Date Just To Avoid Being Alone, You Will Miss The Red Flags

Send us Fan Mail Dating can turn toxic long before anyone yells, cheats, or walks out. Sometimes it starts with a quieter problem: choosing a relationship because being alone feels worse. We unpack how that fear fuels desperation, why it makes people ignore red flags, and how it traps them in the apology cycle that shows up in so many abusive relationships. When “things go back to normal” for a moment, it’s easy to confuse relief for real change. We also get practical about dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble, including what makes profiles flop. Photos matter, but so does clarity: stop leaning on corny lines, inside jokes, and prompts you can’t actually talk about. If you want better matches, your profile has to match your real life, not an outlandish persona or a list of hobbies you rarely do. The goal isn’t to perform, it’s to be readable to a stranger in three seconds. Then we tackle one of the most argued topics online: “micro-cheating.” We explain why we don’t buy the label, where the real line is between talking and actively pursuing, and why intent, wording, and energy matter more than viral checklists. Finally, we tie it back to relationship trauma, healing, and accountability, because most people aren’t doomed, they’re just repeating patterns they never learned to interrupt. If this hits home, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a five-star review so more people can find the show. What boundary or red flag do you wish you had taken seriously sooner? Car Chronicles EP 22: Colorado Bound For A Veterans Health Summit

Send us Fan Mail Colorado trip, big nerves, and a moment we still can’t believe is real: Stephanie gets invited to speak at a Veterans Health Summit as a panelist, and we talk through why that matters for the veteran community. A huge part of our world is helping military members and veterans who feel brushed off or overwhelmed, especially around diabetes management. We get into prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, and type 2 diabetes, plus what it looks like when people are trying to find real support through the VA, primary care, and coaching that actually fits everyday life.  Then the conversation turns heavy, fast. Veteran mental health and veteran suicide prevention can’t be solved by dumping more links into an already crowded “resource” ocean. I share what it feels like to leave the military and lose structure, identity, friends, and mission almost instantly, and why that transition gap creates dread that information alone can’t touch. We talk about purpose as the missing ingredient, addiction as a symptom of emptiness, and a practical idea: a true pipeline from separation into structured jobs and communities so veterans aren’t left to free-fall.  We also pivot into relationships and the word submissive. I explain what I mean and what I don’t mean, why trust and respect come first, and how healing changes who you pick and what you tolerate. There’s also a deeply personal story about our dog Achilles and the kind of decision that stays with you forever.  If this hits home, subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a five-star review. What do you think would actually help veterans rebuild purpose after service? Car Chronicles EP 21: I Learned The Hard Way That Unprocessed Trauma Changes You

Send us Fan Mail A substitute guard sat on his phone and a child told her teacher she didn’t feel safe. Hearing that hit me like a gut punch, because it forced me to face two truths at once: showing up matters, and I’ve built real trust with people who depend on me. I start from that moment and let it open the door to something bigger, a clear look at my emotional state and why I don’t think enough men say what’s actually happening inside. My worldview didn’t get cynical by accident. I spent 13 years in Air Force security forces, responding to emergencies, suicide calls, domestic violence, and the kind of constant disrespect that teaches you to expect the worst from people. When you don’t process those experiences, trauma doesn’t stay in the past. It compounds. It changes how you interpret every conversation, every relationship, every new face. I share what that looked like for me, including the mental breakdowns that finally exposed my limits and the ways my emotional defenses bled into my marriage. Then I explain what’s helping me rebuild: witnessing humanity in its purest form while working at a school where kids are still kids, joy is real, and community feels safe. I also tell a recent story from the road where I pulled over at a smoky crash to help get a truck driver out, and why I’m not sure the old version of me would’ve stopped. If you’ve felt hardened by life, stuck in survival mode, or tired of carrying your story alone, this one is for you. Subscribe, share it with someone who needs it, and leave a five-star review if it resonates. Car Chronicles EP 20: What If Marriage Decisions Are Data-Driven Too

Send us Fan Mail Miami tried to take us out with the kind of driving that makes defensive driving feel like a daily sport, but the real story starts when we get to the Hybrid Health Summit. We walk through the future of personalized health and performance, from genetics testing and epigenetics to what it means when your DNA shows predispositions for obesity, type 2 diabetes, or appetite issues tied to leptin signaling. The big takeaway is simple but powerful: genetics can load the gun, yet lifestyle pulls the trigger, and knowing your weak points helps you build a plan that actually fits your body. We also get practical about the tools people argue about online. Peptides are naturally occurring, GLP-1 pathways matter, and drugs like semaglutide are designed to amplify effects your body already uses. But we keep it honest: you don’t automatically need peptides, a genetics test, or any “cutting-edge” add-on to make progress. What you do need is a clear protocol, solid basics, and better information when the basics stop working. That’s why we dig into blood work, why many standard panels are too limited, and how thyroid markers like TSH, T4, and T3 can tell very different stories when conversion is the real issue. Then the episode takes a sharp turn into relationships, commitment, and marriage. We talk directly about dating standards, why “waiting for the ring” can keep you stuck, and how trust, pride, and willingness to change shape what happens next. If this hits a nerve, sit with it and ask whether the message helps you build the life and relationship you actually want. Subscribe for more, share this with someone who needs the push, and leave a five-star review if you want more straight talk like this. Car Chronicles EP 18: What If Selfishness Is A Survival Signal

Send us Fan Mail Pressure doesn’t always make people better, sometimes it makes them desperate. We’re recording on the road in the rain while juggling a high-profile wedding weekend, and a morning conversation about a new mom spirals into a raw talk about postpartum stress, smoking while breastfeeding, and what people really mean when they say “I had to do something for me.” We don’t treat selfishness like a label. We treat it like a signal that something in the environment is off. From there, we go straight into the parenting and relationship reality that a lot of couples avoid: if one parent is drowning, the whole house pays for it. We talk shared responsibility for dads, the damage that builds when “help” turns into an argument, and how emotional burnout can show up later as withdrawal, resentment, and a relationship that feels like roommates. We also dig into the way language shapes identity, why “it’s my job” can warp your mindset, and how small patterns over time reveal what’s actually happening. Then we get practical: cleaning up your physical environment, building self-respect through routines, and using nervous system regulation tools like somatic breathing. We talk affirmations too, but only in the real sense: words don’t matter without action, and the fastest path is mastering one practice instead of collecting a hundred. The back half takes an unexpected turn into California politics and election integrity, breaking down the fight over seized ballots in Riverside County, the Chad Bianco controversy, and why transparency debates get weaponized so fast. If you got value here, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a five-star review. What part hit closest to home for you?
