Victor Davis Hanson: Why Is Trump Being Blamed for This Cornell Scandal?

A deadly plague linked to a Russian laboratory raises new concerns about biological weapons, government secrecy, and the possibility of another global health crisis. Victor Davis Hanson and Sami Winc draw parallels to COVID-19 while examining Trump's meeting with Xi Jinping, Canada's growing ties to China, and Britain's struggles with immigration, terrorism, and military readiness. They also address sexual assault allegations involving Cornell University students, Hollywood's anti-Trump activism, the politicization of the justice system, and the resurgence of woke ideology on the Left. Victor Davis Hanson: Europe’s Immigration Crisis Is Reaching a Breaking Point

The U.S. pulls its bombers from a British air base amid fears of an Iranian-linked terrorist threat, raising new questions about whether America’s European allies can adequately protect U.S. military assets. Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words” examine growing security and immigration concerns across Europe, arguing that mass migration and failures of assimilation are creating mounting cultural and political instability. They connect these concerns to Canada under Mark Carney, questioning the country’s relationship with the United States, while Hanson warns that Western nations risk importing the very political and social problems many immigrants sought to escape. They also examine the approaching 2026 midterms, and Brazil’s political shift, as they move further to the right.  This episode also talks about Americans’ rapidly declining confidence in higher education, arguing that soaring tuition, DEI instruction, and mounting student debt are forcing students to debate on whether their degrees are still worth the cost.  Allegiance Gold - Visit http://protectwithvictor.com to learn about a special Liberty Offer.   Vaer Watches - Go to http://www.vaerwatches.com/vdh NEW FILM by the Heritage Foundation: “Preventable: The System That Failed My Daughter.” Available now.   https://youtu.be/HxiwOSSRT6s?si=r9k6BFD-iMmvnvpn “The Counterrevolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA Movement” NOW: https://www.amazon.com/Counterrevolution-Fall-Donald-Trump-Movement-ebook/dp/B0GF1K43WM  Learn more about your ad choices. Victor Davis Hanson: They Are Trying to Rewrite WWII History

Lies about our history, and revisionist perspective is threatening to rewrite facts about America’s involvement in WWII.  Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words” dive into the news of riots erupting across France as the European demographic crises, open borders, and assimilation failures reach a tipping point.  They discuss how these global fractures can relate to issues felt in America, pointing to polling that reveals alarming youth support for Sharia law, the resurgence of post-October 7th antisemitism, and Massachusetts Governor’s proposal to send state inspectors into the homes of newborns.  They analyze the legal and moral complexities of the Cornell University fraternity sexual assault allegations, diving into the background of the so-coined “Cornell seven.” The episode also delivers a historical critique of Tucker Carlson’s interview with Jacob Rees-Mogg, dismantling Carlson's revisionist claims about Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill, and Britain’s stand in World War II.  Allegiance Gold - Visit http://protectwithvictor.com to learn about a special Liberty Offer.   Blackout Coffee - Go to http://BlackoutCoffee.com/VDH or use code VDH for 20% off your first order.   Alliance Defending Freedom - Alliance Defending Freedom is gathering 100,000 signatures on a petition to get the disturbing Rights, Respect, and Responsibility program out of schools and to protect parents' right to direct their kids' education. Trump’s Economy Is Stronger Than Voters Think | Victor Davis Hanson

The economy is showing signs of strength, but many Americans still aren’t feeling it—and Republicans have only weeks to convince voters that their policies are working. Victor Davis Hanson and Sami Winc break down the economic picture heading into the midterms, including growth, inflation, wages, and why even The Washington Post is acknowledging some of the underlying strengths of Trump’s economy. They also discuss how illegal immigration is affecting American hospitals and emergency rooms, and what Republicans need to do to turn the economy into a winning midterm message. In the Saturday special, Victor looks back at the presidencies of Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt and the extraordinary crises that defined their time in office. European Anti-Semitism, Saving Sinwar’s Life, and the Left’s October 7 Denial

European nations are turning against Israel while downplaying the realities of October 7 and applying a different standard to Israel’s response to terrorism. Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler focus on Ireland and Spain’s increasingly anti-Israel rhetoric and the refusal to confront the brutality of the October 7 attacks. They also highlight the irony that Israeli doctors once saved the life of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by removing a brain tumor while he was imprisoned in Israel. Hanson also pushes back on claims that the conflict with Iran is becoming another “forever war,” arguing that Iran’s weakened infrastructure and limited American combat losses tell a very different story. The conversation also covers the growing race for artificial intelligence dominance, Elon Musk’s success with companies like SpaceX and Starlink, the release on bail of five suspects arrested with explosives near a British airbase used by the United States, and the political dynamics heading into the midterm elections. Victor Davis Hanson: Why Canada's Prime Minister Is Courting Disaster

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney raises the prospect of preparing for a possible U.S. invasion as trade tensions between Canada and the United States continue to escalate. The strain in the relationship comes as Canada faces broader economic pressures, questions over immigration and open-border policies, and growing concern over the long-term consequences of severing ties with its largest trading partner. Across Western institutions, similar ideological battles are playing out in higher education and the cultural establishment. Stanford faces backlash over the use of AI to alter students’ races in promotional materials, while academic fraud controversies at Cambridge raise further questions about standards and credibility in elite universities. The National Book Awards and the growing influence of DEI politics in major cultural institutions come under scrutiny, along with the treatment of left-wing historians and public figures in the media. The conversation closes with the midterms, where both parties currently stand, and what the coming election season could look like.
