    River of Shadows

    Bewitched

    What's the best course of action when you accidentally (sort of) awaken a two thousand year old evil deep in the jungles of South America? Probably to just forget about it and head back home where you're getting ready to start a new life with your new coven. But, it's hard to concentrate on your studies when the hot as hell primitive warrior shows up on your doorstep, claiming your his long lost wife, and seeking vengeance for the curse you (or his wife, apparently) placed upon him. Doubly hard when your a witch prone to memory loss with every spell you cast, and tripley hard when, ever since this sinful man showed up, you've been casting way more spells than usual.     Baby on Board

    Ah, everyone's favorite troupe. This week Lisa and Jess discuss the pregnancy troupe, looking at two old skool favorite's: Karen Marie Moning's Kiss of the Highlander and the 6th installment of the Immortals after Dark series, Dark Desires after Dusk by Kresley Cole. Oh, and did we mention both FMC's are virgins to start? Gotta love a two-for-one classic troupe.

    Adventures on the High Sea!

    This week Lisa and Jess are getting swarthy, this week and hanging out with some sexy pirates on a High Sea adventure. We'll be discussing Stacey Marie Brown's latest release, Silver Tongued Devil where we answer the question: which pirate is more fun, Croygen or Katrina, aka 'Puss in Boots?' Also, don't mind us while we mercilessly butcher ol' C-dog's name the whole way through. Next we're discussing The Girl Who Belonged to the Sea by Katherine Quinn, where we'll travel to the magical land of Azantia and try to pretend along with Margrete Wood that she's not just instantly falling madly in love with a sexy pirate named Bash. Even if he did kind of kidnap her from her own wedding...Look, it's complicated.

    This week Lisa and Jess are discussing a favorite topic, books with witches! We're delving back into the Witch Walker world with Charissa Weak's 2nd installment City of Ruin. We'll learn more about the Bloodgood sister's past, the King of the East's identity and what the heck that pesky god Neri has been up to since taking his magic back from Colden Moeshka. Then we're shifting gears to the dark and sultry world of Amelia Hutchins looking at the first installment of the Legacy of the Nine Realms books, Flames of Chaos. What is slumbering deep inside Aria Hecate and could this emerging monster answer questions about the father she never knew. Also, where did this Knox character come from and who the hell does he think he is?! Join us as we fall under the spell of these magic weavers.

    2 Books 1 Author

    Jess and Lisa are back for a new season of The Sexy Scary Book Club. Over our break, we discovered author Carissa Broadbent and we loved both of the books we read so much, we simply couldn't choose which one to cover on the pod. So, we decided to create a new theme so we could talk about both! The theme for this week is 2 Books, 1 Author. We are diving into two very different but equally lush and dangerous worlds full of vampires, fae, magic, monsters and (of course) complicated relationships. Join us while we delve into Daughter of No Worlds and The Serpent & the Wings of Night for our Season 4 premiere!
