    Is There a Balm?

This is inspired by the UMC hymn (and Afro-American spiritual), "There is a Balm in Gilead", which in turn in inspired by Jeremiah 8: 18-22. In the scripture, Jeremiah is lamenting the state of the nation of Israel, and ends with, "Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?". In this episode of the podcast I ask that question about the state of affairs in America. Our country is divided and hatred abounds. Someone needs to step up, say "Enough!" and show us the way. And that "someone" needs to be Christians.

    The Holy Spirit

How does the Holy Spirit work in our lives today? You may experience a gentleman patiently knocking on the door of your heart, a wrecking ball knocking down walls or maybe something in between. In any case, expect to be changed.
