  1. E29 Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein

E29 Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein

Boo! This week on the Wet Tee Shirt Podcast, we are exploring classic movie monsters through the power of rock. We are starting out with Frankenstein, and since Alice Cooper keeps writing songs about Frank we chose The Godfather of Shock himself to build the theme around! We play "Teenage Frankenstein" and "Feed My Frankenstein", then follow it up with our vampire pick - Judas Priest's "Love Bites". For our wolfie banger, we picked Uriah Heep's "Night of the Wolf", and since there aren't any WTSP friendly songs about mummies per se, we picked zombies as the perfect substitute, and went with Ozzy Osbourne's "Zombie Stomp". To round things out we picked a tune about witches, the theatrical "Eye of the Witch" by King Diamond, and went out on Faster Pussycat's cover of "Monster Mash". The whole damned thing is a graveyard smash!  Candace put together a Wet Tee Shirt Podcast Halloween Playlist on Spotify that is a collection of all of the songs that we've played on the show this year that would work for a Halloween party soundtrack! Enjoy: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2wQIEQjvpukkyVFSruuZWR?si=bbe01905199a484b Happy Halloween, spooky rockers! 2. E28 Dokken - Dream Warriors

    10/21/2021

    E28 Dokken - Dream Warriors

One, two...gonna podcast for you! This week we are again joined by filmmaker Andrew Shearer of Gonzorrific Films because there is no way we could talk about anything related to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" without him. This is a very special episode of our Halloween edition shows, as the three of us were practically raised on Elm Street and are definitely kids who can talk a whole, whole lot about Freddy Krueger and the whole series!  Of course, our focus is at least mostly on "Dream Warriors", but Freddy is such a part of the eighties, so much a part of American culture when the music that we talk about the most was going on. We talk about how special the music video for the song is, also enjoying "Into the Fire" as it appeared in the opening sequence of the film. Then we make our way through the rock of the film franchise that followed! We share Vinnie Vincent Invasion's "Love Kills" from the fourth film in the franchise, Bruce Dickinson's "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter" from the fifth, and we slam Sepultura's "The Waste" featuring Mike Patton from the "Freddy vs. Jason" soundtrack...and much, much, MUCH more! If you love these films, if you were raised on Krueger, this show is for you! Happy Halloween! 3. E26 Dangerous Toys - Scared

    10/06/2021

    E26 Dangerous Toys - Scared

Do you like being scared?  We certainly do, and that's why Wet Tee Shirt Podcast is kicking off October with four weeks of Halloween, beginning with the Dangerous Toys classic, "Scared". Candace the Clown has some pretty specific criteria when it comes to music she's up for playing this month, so the songs all have to have something about them that works in a Halloween playlist! Thankfully, Dangerous Toys make playing this game easy...once we get past our spooky news segment, we start off with Jason McMaster's former project, Watchtower, and a song from their only record with him, "Asylum"! Then we make our way into the band that we all know him for, and after watching the "Scared" video, we also catch "Bones in the Gutter" from the same debut album, "Demon Bell" from their contribution to the Wes Craven's "Shocker" soundtrack, we go to 1994's "Pissed" and let things get a little "Strange" before we finish our tour of the Toys' catalog with a listen to "Monster Man" from 1995's "The R*tist 4*merly Known as Dangerous Toys" record. This episode is full of carnival sounds, costumes, finding ways to keep talking about "No More Tears", and spooky ooky things! We even finish you off with Fastway's "Trick-or-Treat". It's time to clown around! Take mommy's lace and the whiskey off the top shelf, rent yourself some spiders, snakes, and rats, and don't forget to allow your hair to dry without a dedicated part! Happy Halloween, first week of October style! Watch video of our discussion, as well as the video clips and pictures we reference on the show along with us, on Patreon! 4. E23 L.A. Guns - Never Enough

    09/15/2021

    E23 L.A. Guns - Never Enough

L.A. Guns dropped a new song three weeks ago. We're fashionably late, but have finally joined the party! This week we're summarizing one of the longest, most chaotic tales in rock history to the very best of our abilities all while nursing cocktails. "Never Enough" is the topic of the day, but since Vinnie really needed an L.A. Guns education and since we are on "Cocked & Loaded", we started off by watching the "Ballad of Jayne" music video before getting into the story of the band. We did catch a song off of their 1984 demo, "It's Not True", stop off to watch Phil Lewis be a baby rocker in Girl's "Hollywood Tease", then keep talking Guns history until we get to "Never Enough". We have to listen to "Malaria" while we're still feeling Cocked! Then it's back into a trip through Guns history, stopping off at 1996's Pantera-influenced "American Hardcore" to give "What I've Become" a listen, more history lessons until we arrive at 2020's "Renegades" album, we play "Crawl" before we arrive at 2021 and truly enjoy the gift of genuine, badass new L.A. Guns music in the new release, "Knock Me Down". We also slap on that new track from The Darkness, "Nobody Can See Me Cry" at the end. It's a long story, but at the Wet Tee Shirt Podcast, we keep our whistles wet and our admiration for Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns strong! 5. E22 Britny Fox - Girlschool

    09/08/2021

    E22 Britny Fox - Girlschool

This week it's after Labor Day, and it's back to school! Wet Tee Shirt Podcast is enrolled in "Girlschool", naturally, so we're talking Britny Fox this week. It's actual Labor Day for us, so Vinnie is LIT rocking that Wet Tee Shirt Podcast merch, drinking that tequila, playing that organ, and hamming it up for the camera, but we manage to explore at least some of the Britny Fox story! Maybe don't start the episode at full volume this week, because of course we did a parody cover of the song for the theme song, and this time Candace pulled out her most muppety of rock voices to startle your eardrums with her rocker screech imitation. You've been warned! Housekeeping and hellos, then we start with the Cinderella beginnings, then we jump right into the song of the episode. We also check out the "Fun in Texas" while we're on that self-titled debut album, talking tour and talking about what we've learned from the band's perspective about what went down as we move into the story behind "Bite Down Hard". We stop off to rock "Six Guns Loaded", and to appease Candace's sense of balance we listen to "Home and a Heart" from Dean Davidson's band that he formed after he left Britny Fox that released their debut that same year, Blackeyed Susan. We couldn't help but talk about the magnificence of 2003's "Springhead Motorshark", playing "Freaktown", and we polish off the episode with a little "Hair of the Dog". This is the kind of party we like to have on a long weekend before we have to get back to work, so strap in and let Wet Tee Shirt Podcast show you the boobs!
