    Mike Huguenor

In today's episode, I speak with Mike Huguenor. Mike has been in a number of bands including Shinobu, Hard Girls, Jeff Rosenstock, as a solo artist, and more. Here I talk to him mostly about his new book Elvis is Dead; I'm Still Alive: The Story of Asian Man Records. This is a fun and lively conversation about Mike's experiences and the process of writing a biographical book about a friend and the work that they have done to help build a music scene.

David McWane of Big D and the Kids Table

David McWane of Big D and the Kids Table is a dude who’s mind works in different ways than a lot of folks and we are all better of for it. It was one of the most interesting conversations I have had for a long time. We talk about Boston, making art, @thedopedupdollies (including my amazing past guest @rinmackenzie of @therinsstagram ), we talk about writing, and of course we talk about the new album. Make sure to check it out.

    Andrew Sacher

I got the opportunity to talk to Andrew Sachar, editor at Brooklyn Vegan and soon-to-be author of a fantastic book about the Emo Revival. It was a really fun and interesting conversation that I can't wait for you to hear.

I spent some time chatting with Aaron Carnes author of In Defense of Ska and podcaster of the same-named podcast. We talk about his journey in ska and journalism, how the book came to be, and all of the rabbit trails therein. Strap in for a good chat.

    Jennifer Mathieu

I am deeply privileged and honored to have one of my favorite authors on the podcast today: Jennifer Mathieu. More than likely you know her from her 4th book that she published which Amy Poehler adapted to a fantastic Netflix film, Moxie. We spend some time discussing Moxie but we also chat about Bad Girls Never Say Die, and her upcoming adult deput novel The Faculty Lounge. There is a lot of fun educator talk in here as both me and Jennifer are educators and so we talk about all of the inside baseball on the new novel. Of course we also discuss our love for punk music. If you love the podcast, please subscribe, review, and share. A video version of this podcast is also available on my YouTube channel.

    Christie Gee

Today I spent time with the unbelievably cool Christie Gee. Christie is the kind of person that everyone wants to know and be friends with. She is a blogger, podcaster, playlist curator, artist, and all-around kind person. We talk about growing up in Texas in the Tooth and Nail era, her move to California, some of our favorite people, and all of the great things she is involved in creating.

    Backyard Superheroes

I chat with Josh, Tam, and Brian (Brumpet) about the outstanding upcoming Backyard Superheroes album Mass Hysteria. We discuss New Jersey staples - like is NJ pizza better than NY - and we talk books!

    Erin MacKenzie of The Rins

What a fantastic conversation I had with the fabulous Erin MacKenzie from The Rins AND from Big D and the Kids Table AND also from the Doped Up Dollies. Loved all of the Boston talk and hearing about her awesome experiences and the excitement of this new project. There were a few technical difficulties, so pardon the sudden end to the conversation.
