G.K. takes us off the beaten path with three fascinating travel programs featuring abandoned places, forgotten communities, historic locations, and the stories still waiting to be discovered across North America.     Just War in an Unjust World

    With America engaged in a prolonged war with Iran, public support declining, and questions mounting about the objectives and costs of continued military action, an ancient question has become urgently relevant again: When is war justified? In this episode of Mining the Media, David and G.K. move beyond partisan arguments over President Trump and examine war through the biblical and historic Christian understanding of Just War Theory. Drawing from D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones' Why Does God Allow War?, Scripture, and principles developed through centuries of Christian thought, they consider seven essential standards: just cause, legitimate authority, right intention, last resort, proportionality, discrimination between combatants and civilians, and a reasonable prospect of success. The discussion takes an especially compelling turn when G.K. contrasts the punitive aftermath of World War I and the Treaty of Versailles with America's approach following World War II—when defeated enemies were rebuilt rather than simply punished, eventually becoming prosperous nations and valuable American allies. Can a war begin justly but cease to be prosecuted justly? Does supporting our country or president relieve Christians of the responsibility to continually evaluate a war morally?     #200 — I Just Want to Celebrate

    In this milestone 200th episode of *Mining the Media*, G.K. and Dave take a walk down memory lane and look back at where it all began, the people they've met along the way, and some of the memorable moments from the show. The journey started years ago over lunch at a Panera Bread, when G.K. shared an idea for a different kind of program—one that would dig beneath the headlines and talk about stories and issues too often overlooked by the mainstream media. Before lunch was over, Dave had purchased the domain name MiningTheMedia.com and kept renewing it until G.K. was ready to turn that idea into a podcast. Two hundred episodes later, there's plenty to remember—and even more to be thankful for. So for Episode #200, there really is only one thing left to say: **I Just Want to Celebrate.**
