Muslims Are Growing, Yet Our Voice Is Getting Weaker | Islamophobia & Future of Our Community

Over the past four decades, the Muslim community in North America has grown from small gatherings in homes and basements into established masjids, schools, institutions, businesses, and community organizations. But with that growth comes an important question: Have we continued to clearly communicate and represent the core message of Islam? In this Jumu'ah Khutbah, Imam Azhar Subedar reflects on the growth of the Muslim community and the responsibility that comes with it. He explains why institutions, professional success, charitable work, and community development are important, but cannot replace the responsibility of understanding and communicating Islam.Drawing lessons from the Quran and the examples of Ibrahim and Musa, the khutbah explores the importance of proactively communicating the message of Islam rather than allowing others to define it for us.The lecture also uses familiar examples from brands such as Coca-Cola and McDonald's to explain why a consistent message matters. The same principle applies to how Muslims represent their faith through their words, character, actions, and everyday interactions.Ultimately, the reminder turns the responsibility back toward each individual Muslim: learn your faith, understand what Islam teaches, recognize how its message is being represented, and take responsibility for representing Islam with knowledge, confidence, and good character.📌 What You Will Learn• How the Muslim community in North America has developed over the past four decades• Why building institutions is only part of the community's responsibility• The importance of reaffirming Islam's core message• Lessons from Ibrahim and Musa on communicating the truth• What Muslims can learn from consistent messaging and branding• Why others should not be allowed to define the story of Islam• The mission of Prophet Muhammad to convey the message• Why every Muslim has a role in representing Islam• How Islam is demonstrated through character and action• Why learning your faith is essential to representing it accurately⏳ Chapters00:00 The Growth of the Muslim Community in North America05:48 A New Generation of Muslim Professionals07:51 The One Area Where We Fell Behind09:03 Why Reaffirming Our Core Message Matters11:25 Lessons From Ibrahim and Musa13:35 What Does It Mean to "Market" Islam?14:01 What Coca-Cola Can Teach Us About Branding15:15 When Others Define Your Story16:19 The Mission of Prophet Muhammad19:31 What Is Our Response?22:04 Islam Is Demonstrated Through Action23:31 Take Responsibility for Your Role24:38 Learn Your Faith and Understand the Narrative26:33 Final Reminder and Dua🎤 About The SpeakerImam Azhar Subedar is an Islamic speaker who delivers reminders rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, addressing the spiritual and social responsibilities of Muslims in contemporary society.📺 Watch LiveWatch live on YouTube and Instagram:@israfoundation🤝 Support ISRAhttps://israfoundation.com/support📅 Eventshttps://www.israfoundation.com/events🌐 Websitehttps://israfoundation.com📍 ISRA HQ930 W. He can make you feel better than everyone else because of the good you do.In this Jumu'ah Khutbah, Mufti Wasim Khan explores one of the most subtle dangers on the path toward Allah: when worship, knowledge, religious practice, or good deeds begin feeding the ego instead of humbling the heart. The lecture examines how pride can slowly enter our worship, relationships, communities, social media, and even acts of service. When Desire Becomes Your God | The Hidden Danger of Following Your Feelings | Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan

What happens when your desires become more powerful than your belief in Allāh?In this powerful Jumu'ah Khutbah, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explores a profound passage from the Qurʾān about people who take their desires as their god. The discussion examines how a person can have knowledge, belief, and even religious practice, yet gradually allow emotions and desires to become the ultimate standard for what they accept as right and wrong. The Khutbah explores the deeper meaning of hawa, the difference between ritual worship and true emotional devotion, and how unchecked desires can eventually prevent a person from accepting guidance.Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan also explains the Qurʾānic description of spiritual paralysis: when hearing becomes sealed, the heart becomes closed, and the eyes become unable to recognize what is happening. This is a powerful reminder to examine what truly controls our decisions, emotions, priorities, and relationship with Allāh.📌 What You Will Learn➤ The powerful meaning behind "Ra'aita" in the Qurʾān➤ How desires can gradually replace devotion to Allāh➤ The deeper meaning of hawa➤ The difference between ritual worship and emotional devotion➤ How a person can go astray despite having knowledge➤ The difference between belief-driven and emotion-driven mindsets➤ Lessons from the story of the Minister's wife in Sūrah Yūsuf➤ How unchecked emotions can distort a person's sense of right and wrong➤ The spiritual consequences of repeatedly rejecting guidance➤ Why hearing, the heart, and sight can become spiritually blocked➤ The limits of human effort in guiding someone who refuses guidance➤ Why some people become more astray than cattle🎤 About the KhutbahIn this Jumu'ah Khutbah, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan reflects on the Qurʾānic description of a person who takes their own desires as an object of devotion. The discussion begins with the significance of "Ra'aita" and why this expression creates a sense of shock and highlights something extraordinary. The Khutbah then examines how a person's relationship with Allāh can gradually be replaced by emotional desires. Rather than allowing revelation to guide their feelings, they begin allowing their feelings to determine what they believe and how they behave. The discussion also explores the difference between people who are driven by beliefs and principles and those who allow their emotions to become their ultimate authority. One of the most powerful sections examines the spiritual consequences of repeatedly rejecting guidance: hearing becomes sealed, the heart becomes closed, and the eyes become covered from recognizing the reality of one's own condition. The Khutbah concludes with lessons from Sūrah Al-Furqān and a reminder that believers are not responsible for forcing guidance upon those who refuse to use their intellect and accept the truth. The deeper question is not simply what you believe. It is: what controls you when your feelings and Allah's guidance disagree?📺 Watch LiveWatch live on YouTube and Instagram:@israfoundation🤝 Support ISRAhttps://israfoundation.com/support📅 Eventshttps://israfoundation.com/events🌐 Websitehttps://israfoundation.com📍 ISRA HQ930 W.
