SolderSmoke Podcasts

All about brewing your own gear, designing rigs, and debugging. Fun banter and good humor abound. A sort of Car Talk for serious radio junkies. Great!

I’ve been a huge fan of this podcast, listening chronologically from the beginning. Then I got to October 31, 2020 and got treated to a political treatise. I’m done. What a loss.

The trials and tribulations of making your own radio gear. What has and hasn’t worked as Bill and Pete try new and old parts and technologies. They won’t give you instructions about the filter in your expensive appliance transceiver, but you might learn how to make one for yourself.

I enjoyed the technology in the first couple of podcasts I listened to, then I started playing the Oct 31, 2020 episode. They started ranting about how we should vote which completely turned me off. Ham radio is not about politics and I do not want to be lectured by a fellow ham on how to vote. You should stick to the technology.
