    A man sitting alone in a rural train station shelter gets up, walks into the dark at the end of the platform, and vanishes completely: no footprints, no sound, nowhere he could have gone.     Factual Supernatural - EP02 - Red Head

    Jonathan Frank Tate spent years in security operations, the military, and private contracting, but it's his time as Warden for Newborough and Llanddwyn on Anglesey that gives this account its material. His book, Factual Supernatural, is out now on Amazon, and this episode features one of its accounts exactly as he wrote it, unaltered. In broad daylight, on a coastal path between the dunes and the forest, Tate sees a girl sitting perfectly still beside the track. He looks away for only a few seconds. When he looks back, she is gone, with no tracks in the sand and no sound in the trees to explain how. This is Red Head. Tate spent years patrolling Newborough and Llanddwyn, walking coastal paths caught between dune and forest, in a landscape shaped by wind, tide, and centuries of storms that buried a royal court beneath the sand. Walking that same path for hours, losing track of time and distance in the silence, he notices the girl sitting just off the track, her pale hair lifting in the wind, and steps behind a tree out of reflex before letting himself be seen. When he steps back onto the path moments later, she has vanished completely: the sand around her lies undisturbed, nothing moves in the trees, and there is nowhere she could have gone without being seen or heard.     Dark Matters - EP06 - The White Lady of Grace Dieu Priory

    A woman who died almost eight hundred years ago is still, by more than one account, walking a stretch of road in Leicestershire. In this Dark Matters case, a bus once pulled in for her at a shelter opposite Grace Dieu Priory, the doors opened, and nobody got on, because by the time the driver looked, she'd already gone. The White Lady has been seen at the same forty yards of road across decades: a family in a horse-drawn carriage in 1926, an off-duty police constable in 1981, a family driving home in 1990, and, more than once, officers who say a hooded figure simply appeared in the back seat of a parked patrol car. The ruins themselves, all that's left of a strict thirteenth-century nunnery founded by the formidable Rohese de Verdun, sit on a real geological fault line, and a darker local legend claims a prioress was bricked up alive after her baby was drowned in the priory fishpond. Ghost hunters have picked up the same details independently on separate visits years apart, from a ghost box insisting eight spirits are present to a photograph that looks unmistakably like a hooded figure caught in mist.     A mother tucks her daughter in for the night in their Niagara Falls apartment, certain she'd just watched her standing silent in the bedroom doorway wearing a nightgown she doesn't own. In this Witness Files case, the ten-year-old explains it the next morning without missing a beat: "That's just Abigail. She used to live here when it was a farm." It's the first of several accounts from the same witness, spanning a decade and two countries. A slammed car door and running footsteps with no explanation, on the same afternoon her father dies in a road accident miles away. Unexplained footsteps outside a locked hotel room during a Highland dance trip to Glasgow.     In Part Two of this Haunted UK Podcast: On the Road interview, Jamie Corstorphine of City of the Dead Tours picks up right where Part One left off, 1679, and the aftermath of the Battle of Bothwell Brig, when captured Covenanter prisoners were brought to Edinburgh and held in the conditions that built Greyfriars Kirkyard's grim reputation. From there, Jamie takes us into one of Britain's most infamous paranormal cases: the Mackenzie Poltergeist, the story behind the scratches, faintings, and unexplained encounters reported around one particular mausoleum in the kirkyard, and clears up some of the misinformation that's built up around the case over the years.     The Witness Files - Case 07 - The Station That Never Slept

    On his very first shift as a security officer at a fire station in South Wales, Dorian was asked the same question by three different firefighters before lunch: have you seen the ghosts yet? In this Witness Files case, the joke stops being a joke fast, once he learns exactly what the station was built on top of. The station sits directly on the site of a Victorian colliery, where an explosion in 1878 trapped over three hundred men and boys underground and ultimately killed 268 of them, many by drowning when the pit was flooded to control the fire. Firefighters posted there over the years describe knocking on doors with nobody behind them, appliance bay lights and doors found open on empty patrols, and crews who refuse to linger once the sun goes down. One colleague who dismissed it all as nonsense changed his mind within a single night shift, after seeing three figures crossing the mess room that he could only describe as looking like miners.
