From Our Mothers’ Wombs is a storytelling space led by me, Sátin Marché —a wombman, a mother, a spouse, and a storyteller. Through my own lived experiences and reflections, I share narratives rooted in healing, resilience, and sacred womanhood. As stories unfold, I hold space for the voices of family matriarchs and military spouses. More often than not, the families we advocate alongside are commonly sustained by wombmen who hold up the fort & sacrifice just as much as their active duty spouses. They are the weft and warp of our village.

    The conversation we all need to have

    In this episode Sátin Marché brings awareness to the lack of acknowledgment about the 9 realms of well being amongst birth workers, activists, activators, and others alike. While there seems to be such emphasis on 'Black' Maternal Mental Health, there are other realms of well being beyond mental health, that affects all wombmen, such as mental, emotional, physical, environmental, nutritional, social, intellectual, financial. All of these realms are crucial to the spiritualrealm on a larger scale. While Sátin analyzes the 9 realms of well being, she also examines the 4 trimesters as it relates to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum: Trimester 1: Plant the Seed Trimester 2: Carry the Seed Trimester 3: Birth the Seed Trimester 4: Nurture the Seed Sátin's intention is to sustain (her) birth work; sharing the knowledge & wisdom that she has acquired along the path of doing so, trusting that WE will take accountability for better reproductive outcomes.     Somewhere in the murkiness of life, I was overcome by the shadows of others, inevitably forgetting who I am at the core. Through my initiation into motherhood, I am learning how to lean into me - accepting me, those around me, and learning to love unconditionally.This is my homecoming, this is my retrieval; embodying who I am & who I've always been.
