Covenant Community Kids

Thankful for these two brave women interviewing various types of people about their experiences in covenant communities mostly from the Word of God and Word of Life in Ann Arbor and the Work of Christ in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Both are under the control of the Sword of the Spirit and the Servants of the Word. Very troubling to hear about how University Christian Outreach is still so controlled by all these groups. Let the church not be fooled by how toxic these communities continue to be especially towards the young who grow up in them. So much healing here when you listen to these stories.

You ladies are amazing! I was raised in the lansing work of Christ, me and my five sisters. Your conversations sound exactly like ours but beyond that, the inflections the laughter the humor it’s all so familiar! It was hard for me to keep track of who was talking haha I relate so hard to the skeptic in you both though, my biblical version of me is definitely doubting Thomas! Show me them holes or you Lyin! I have only listened to the first episode and I can’t wait to here more.

So glad you have started this podcast, your style is very approachable and helpful, covering the tough stuff of life while also showing the “light at the end of the tunnel” for those who have left. I’m so glad your guests have covered a range of experiences that were taboo in community - divorce, addiction, non-cis/straight genders and orientation, with and without kids, etc. I can relate to so much that you and the guests have said. Thanks for helping all of us in our various stages of deconstruction, and I look forward to hearing more!
