    Homer in Graphic Books

    Was Homer a man? “Homer” is a fictional name assigned to a collection of stories known to have been transmitted orally—like songs—over generations, before eventually being written down as the Iliad and the Odyssey. Countless movies, books, plays, adventure stories, animated works, and video games are based on this series of journeys. The Iliad and the Odyssey encompass tragedy, cross-cultural themes, and mythology, as well as a series of reimagined texts; empires utilized them to craft "their own mythology" and, in doing so, forge a new identity. The most important aspect of Odysseus's journey is that it was transmitted lyrically, with people singing of his adventures; consequently, the musical nature of the narrative facilitates mnemonic retention. The Iliad and the Odyssey are poems—in terms of literary style—and demonstrate that collective memory is encoded through poetic rhythm. Homer is the name of a fictitious character representing the collective. We already have a name for the Collective Intelligence.

    Now that everyone is excited about champions and participating in competitions, let’s look at the word's etymology. In English, breaking down the word *champion* might not be immediately obvious due to the "ch" combination, yet *champ* and *ion* appear joined together; in Spanish, *campeón* alters the *-ion* ending, though the root *camp-* remains present in the word's structure. The French variable is like the English one, easy to confuse with a mushroom :), Catalan is closer and shorter, implies a Io, like saying I´m on the field, then there is the accurate Romanian selection: campion combines *camp*—meaning "field"—and *ion*—a small particle of energy that works as part of a team. In conclusion, from an etymological standpoint, a champion is a small spark of potential that has traversed the field; thus, they are someone with experience—someone capable of working that terrain.     Emotional shelter

    Big companies, and individuals alike use colonialist manipulation techniques on a daily basis. Let's see 2 of them: Gaslighting While the term originated from a 1938 play about an abusive husband, the concept of cultural or structural gaslighting is highly relevant in colonial and historical contexts. Systemic Denial: Colonizers used denial, historical revisionism, and the active destruction of Indigenous cultures to make marginalized groups question their own lived experiences, knowledge, and memories. Power Dynamics: Just as in a personal relationship, structural gaslighting is used to maintain power and force the victim to rely on the perpetrator's version of reality. Ghosting Originating in the 2000s within digital dating, ghosting is defined as suddenly cutting off communication to avoid emotional discomfort.Lack of Accountability: Sociologically, ghosting reflects an individual's inability or unwillingness to take responsibility for another person's feelings. While not a deliberate "colonial" tool, it is a modern symptom of emotional detachment and avoidance. In the case of companies recruiting, ghosting after interviewing is a totally non-inclusive approach, and I urge the #workersrights delegates at the international level to solve the issue, as it affects entire groups of populations. A ghosting reaction usually hides racism, ageism, ableism. Who gets detached and avoids? Not archaic community logic that's for sure. Are you or your company using colonialist manipulation techniques? If yes, please note that such techniques are against human rights, and an affront to the Strategy for Inclusion.

    La ceinture noire

    Une amie, ceinture noire de karaté, a déclaré après une agression : « Il voulait me violer, et je suis heureuse de ne pas l’avoir laissé là sans bouger." Il vaut mieux ne pas essayer d'agresser, car on ne sait jamais qui est une maître en arts martiaux. » Elle semblait une proie facile, mais c’était une ceinture noire préparée pour le combat.

    Hot Wave Emergency

    Last year, in winter, it was an emergency situation, the cold wave, people died, and many others were evacuated in the cold. This year, right now there is another emergency situation: a heatwave, even more deaths, and people evacuated in full street display. In winter, I have asked for help from many institutions in different cities. From the last emergency situation to today, in the next emergency, those in charge were more into unsatisfactory choreography and closing communication than into solving problems. Conclusion: The Strategy Planning is shallowly made. Who made it that badly is corrupt or just not knowing how to plan? Let's change it, and give people a chance to live at least for the next season. There are some people left in oblivion for years, and they are in danger… Incredibly, they are alive, but still… A society deals with emergency situations with class, strategy, and anticipation, except if it's so corrupt that it has no clue of what it's supposed to do.

    Ola de calor, y los árboles gritan

    Trees cannot scream, yet they wither before our eyes. Each extreme summer takes a toll on the following season, and the casualty count rises. An affected tree means an entire ecosystem in distress, and right now, forests are burning.

    Refugee Portrait

    Imagine fleeing for your life, enduring traumatic experiences, and ultimately being co-opted by a racist bureaucracy that dehumanizes and expels you, forcing you to become a victim of human trafficking. War makes no sense, but since it's a reality, the host countries are obliged to provide support and make sure that the refugees are safe, yet that means consistent planning with the basic rights at the center of each step and respect for life. We can observe many parallels based on immigrant work exploitation. This child's home was bombed. To feel safe the proximity, the host country must feel safe via an inclusive human approach and individual planning. According to international laws, the rights to asylum do not imply being extra intelligent, super good looking, having new shoes, or knowing the local dialects...The fact that such selections are influencing the support system in the decision of sustaining or not indicates chain corruption and general stupidity. When money is more important than a human life, that's a mental setting problem, and implicit cruelty.
