Good Night Niche Ep. 8: You Called Me Pretty 🌻

This is for the people who thinks I am pretty. Thank you. “You Called Me Pretty” A quarter away from the end of my life you said I was fine You watched the blood stream from my face and you called it divine You gave me burdensome battles I wasn’t supposed to face, and you gave me no weapons I was a soldier who’s supposed to fight for my life but I have nothing in my possession You tossed all my self aside for more than a decade just to be pretty in your perception I asked you questions upon questions, but I was wordless and there was no sound You heard nothing echoing even from the closed chamber of this world and all I heard was “You’re so pretty, you can do it, you can stretch a little more.” Stretch ‘til my bones broke and my soul shattered,  stretch until my skin releases a river of maroon colored glitter Stretch until my voice can no longer release an army of dreams fettered “You’re so pretty” you told me while I was nauseated by the sound of my own cries “You’re so pretty, baby” you told me while I was crawling back with aggression Waiting for your arm to reach out and just hold me and you did and you told me you did a good job today in obeying me, you are so teachable, and look at your face, so colorful Colorful, you’re right it was colorful, because my face was painted with colors of blue, yellow and black Specially painted by the things that came out of your mouth, the death stare in your eyes, the strength of your hands which I thought was meant to protect me, but those were all lies because when I sought rest you gave me otherwise, you gave me war I can never surmise seeking for your guidance to help me get through the dessert, you just pointed out the things I lack but that’s okay, anyway, midway you looked at me and told me I was pretty when I bedecked myself with all of your dishonesty and endured all the disenchantment you told me it showed so much of my strength while I was grasping for air, another death stare I was not allowed to rest, to resist to retaliate because you told me I was pretty but I no longer want to be called pretty, I want nothing more but to be free ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ⭐️If you are a podcaster like me and you want to monetize like me, make sure you head on to podmetrics.co to gain access to various brand campaigns, affiliate marketing programs, and even shout outs like these! Good Night Niche Ep.7: Ode To the Center of Distraction 🌈✨

I just thought I'd share something I have written back in 2019 when I decided that I was already okay with being different. I hope you're okay with that too because here's an ode for you! ✌️✨ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ode to the Center of Distraction" You with the one with the look that pierces other eyes when you actually see paradise You who wears piercings to introduce the intimidating beings inside your head, your heart and the one inside your soul waiting for the world to see you as a blessing, as a phoenix rising from the ashes, as your best, as someone who is different from the rest But you are different from the rest, you’re a head-turner, every jaw drops at the sight of you, and every hand extends at your presence, every glance was contagious but it was not because you were blessed. It was because you were different. They have not seen anything like you so they can’t comprehend; they refuse to understand the conundrums that you make when you smile, when you love, when you choose to break barriers this world made out of its own failure. You, that releases an army of an overwhelming mixture of melancholy and glee, of apology and happy, of love and hatred, of sadness and joy, of distress and calm, of standard and crazy, of passion and apathy, when you dust your knees and laugh as if pain was just a refreshing droplet of rain And when it rains, your heart begins to beat again and you stretch your arms and dance Until you realize your heart was slowly turning into a blade for anyone who threatens your royalty and tries to replace it with fragility until all that bleeds from their mouth was the word sorry As you stood there unapologetic because there is nothing to apologize about not even when every smile upon you turns into a pout because of the staggering wall of standards that makes people flinch. There’s nothing to apologize for when you sit alone in a quiet cafe, sipping a cup of matcha latte There’s nothing to be sorry when you’re just trying to find a taxi and being all frisky Just trying to order a meal in a fastfood, just trying to get clothes that looks good, Just trying to be friends with a stranger, just trying to dance at a party Even when you get nothing but adjectives like shameless, dateless, loveless, lonely, relentless But you are relentless and a riot against those who goes against it. I don’t blame you for the attention; in fact I am filled with nothing but adoration, for making your scars as a mural for the wall that’s built around your fettered heart. I adore you for making a monument from every broken bone, every wound, every tear that shed from your eyes and you called it your own. I adore you for planting knives around your soul that cuts off every man that comes to steal, kill and destroy your joy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ⭐️If you are a podcaster like me and you want to monetize like me, make sure you head on to podmetrics.co to gain access to various brand campaigns, affiliate marketing programs, and even shout outs like these!
