The hand signs in Naruto. The spirits in Demon Slayer. The cursed energy in Jujutsu Kaisen. None of it was invented. Dr. Mark Hosak is a PhD Japanologist from Heidelberg University, an ordained Shingon practitioner and a Ninjutsu grandmaster. He spent three years researching in the temples of Japan and walked all 88 temples of the Shikoku pilgrimage on foot. In this podcast he opens the original Japanese texts behind the stories you already love. Kuji Kiri — the nine hand seals. Shingon Reiki — the healing tradition Mikao Usui actually practiced. Shugendo, Shinto and shamanic Daoism — the older roots most people never hear about. This is not anime commentary. It is the real material, read from the sources, by someone who practices it.

The meaning of traditional in Usui Reiki

In this podcast episode we shed light on the meaning of the term traditional in Usui Reiki. I invite you, tradition truly from Usui's perspective. Because it is explained in detail in the ancient Japanese inscription on the memorial stone, but hardly anyone knows. As a Japanologist, thanks to my knowledge of the classical Japanese written language, I was able to find out without having to resort to the existing translations. I would like to share what is there with you today, because I find it enormously illuminating and groundbreaking. I hope you enjoy listening.
