What does good mental health look like?

We are often told that there’s nothing wrong with us when we express that mentally we are going through something. We are often told to pray, told to read the bible OR ‘drink some tea’. Black men suffer mentally in silence because they’re told to be strong and it’s not manly to show emotions. Black women are told ‘this is what being a woman is about, so suck it up buttercup’. But at what point can we cry? Who can we speak to? When does our mental health matter? Blank slate

blank slate noun : someone or something that is still in an original state and that has not yet been changed by people, experiences, etc. It is important to reset our minds to exactly this. A blank slate, where we let go and give ourselves the opportunity to start fresh. It is important for our wellness but also for ourselves to accept that it’s okay, and it’s NEVER too late. We talk about how to go about this, why it’s important and things we can do to reset our mind, soul and body..
