    The Cresent Hotel, Christmas Tales and Gargoyles

    We want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!  This is the last episode of season five.  On this episode we are talking about the haunted Cresent Hotel and how ghost appear during Christmas time.  We are also talking about how Dec. 25 is one of the best nights to talk to a loved one that has passed away because the veil between the living and the dead is the thinnest. We have a story about a guy who was vistited by his mom on Christmas.  We are also talking about some of the traditions that take place during the Yule like telling scary stories.  Finally we we have been seeing and hearing some crazy stories of Gargoyle sightings and encounters taking place in Chicago recently.  We will be taking a short break to spend time with our family but will be back with season 6 on Jan. 23!     The Beast of Blood Mountain

    On this episode we are talking about the The Beast of Blood Mountain, aka Gary Hilton also know as the National Forest Serial Killer.  We are going over the case of Merrideth Emerson who went hiking on Blood Mountain on News Year Day in 2008 in the Appalachian Mts. and was never heard from again.  Merrideth was missing for three days and her body was found 4 days later after Gary Hilton was brought in for questioning and cracked under pressure from the police and ends up telling them everything!  Join us as we talk about this horrific case and an anime horror movie Kara saw called "Perfect Blue".     Happy Halloween!  On this episode we are diving into some of the halloween traditions and folklore of other cultures and countries.   We are talking about the Irish folklore of Oweynagat or Cave of Cats and about how the Irish believe this cave is the gateway to Hell or the Underworld.  We also talk about the Celtic version of Halloween called Samhain and some of its traditions.   We are also covering the Jiang Shi which are "Hopping Vampires" that are rooted in Chinese Folklore and covering The Kapre or "Tree dwelling Giants" which origins can be traced back to the Philippines culture.     Panthertown, North Carolina and the Obsidian Mirror

    Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast! On todays episode we have another strange encounter in the Appalachia's.  This time our story takes place in Panthertown, North Carolina were a group of friends are going backpacking for the weekend.  High strangness occurs when one of the hikers hears many voices and other strange things happen while she is left alone in the woods.   Our second story is about an obsidian mirror that was used by the Aztecs during rituals that involved them using the mirror to communicate with the spirit world.  This mirror was also said to be used for scrying and transportation between worlds.  Be sure to check out all our exciting episodes of our podcast where ever you listen to your music.
