Ransel Roque

I love talking about Personal Finance. Sharing my journey and my guest's journey. Hoping to inspire our listeners and hope they can apply our life lessons in their lives too. We just want to share our experiences and hopefully someone can relate to it and be of help to them. This is not an Educational Podcast, what we did worked for us but it does not mean it will work for everybody. Me and my guests are not successful yet, but we are progressing towards our goals and we are happy to share our journey with you. Thanks for listening and be kind to one another. :)

Si Ransel at Si Pau - Episode 11

Welcome to another Face To Face Podcast!!! Listen to the journey of Pau, BS Nursing graduate, wanted to be a doctor, worked in Dubai for a few months to now earning from her passion working as a PR Marketing manager. She is a proud single mom of two young boys and will always choose Pera over Pagibig (Kusa naman daw kasing kinakaltas iyon). :) Her first hustle was earning from her Kikayness. She used to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings made of beads for her classmates and friends. From making some for herself at first, to then selling it in their school. Until now she still has that Kikay in her, proof is her FB page below. https://www.facebook.com/paulapinkikay After graduation she went to Dubai, went back home and was welcomed to the reality that our hospitals has no vacancies for nurses like her and needed to work as a call center agent just to make ends meet. She had a realization that her current earning was not enough when she had her first born. Her career transition jumpstarted when her last Contact Center company suddenly closed and she started taking offhsore jobs, writing articles for companies, at a measly rate of 35 cents per article. Getting her clients from then our go to site, ODesk. During the pandemic she was working 5 jobs. "Iyong oras na meron ako, dapat maging pera", this is how she treats her free time now. She downsized her client portfolio from having 5 to 3, while still getting the same monthly compensation, but has more free time now. Let's meet and liste to paula's story. Hope you enjoy and pick a lesson or two from our special guest, Paula!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! Listen to the journey of Melanie, BS Economics graduate from CDO moved to Manila to pursue a career, started as a Desktop Tech support and in a couple of years she became a Manager in the IT industry to now taking up Post Graduate studies somewhere in Europe. She was a shoe shine girl for her Lolo as her first hustle and at a young age of 11, she was already helping in their family business and has even handled baking classes, teaching students that are older than her. She even conducts swimming lessons during summer break to add to that. She is a podcast co-host for The Balut Kiki Project, which recently won best hosts at the recently concluded Asia Podcast Festival 2021. Check them out here. https://www.balutkiki.com/the-podcast In 2021, she decided to take a leap of faith. Sold everything she had, even some of her organs, brought just two towels with her and decided to pursue her Masters Degree in Computer Science. 2022, she started her new journey. Looking for places to eat, learning how to commute and finding a dorm near her University. Also, looking for a job J. If anybody has some recommendations do reach out to me or her directly. J During this time she had her greatest realization, that she had bought so many small things throughout the years. She has so many ballpens, shoes and even wall clocks that she didn’t really need. She definitely could have used that money for something else more essential. “If you can’t bring it with you when you migrate to another country, you definitely don’t need to buy it just because it’s cute” She is just in her early 40s but she already has her life planned out. She plans to retire at her retirement home, at a cozy farm lot in Quezon, living a simple life and eating freshly picked vegetables. Simple life is a happy life indeed. Hope you enjoy and pick a lesson or two from our special guest, Melanie General.
